Confused, David looked at Johann, then back at the wall.
What did he want? Were they going to spar one another, or was Johann going to hire him? Or perhaps this had nothing to with Nina, and this odd man was playing a prank on him.
"She really doesn't tell you fools anything, huh?" Johann sneered at David, and walked to the section of the wall covered in training swords.
He looked back at David a few times, scanning him from head to toe, and then he grabbed a wooden training sword, tossing it at David.
The sword tumbled through the air in a high arc, Johann had thrown in it such a way that David didn't even need to move to catch it, it fell directly into his open hand.
A surprised expression was on David's face, the training sword, both in its weight and balance, felt just the same as the straightsword he always wielded.
Even after giving it a few test swings, swishing it through the air, David could barely notice a difference.
