"Graaaagh!" Edmund launched himself towards David, who was stumbling in the sand again, one tentacle out in the air to stabilize himself, like a twisting purple tail.
'Oh shit!' David thought, seeing the growling werewolf lunging towards him. He'd felt the pain of one of those lightning claws before, and knew even a slight touch would mean defeat.
'Only one one way to get out of this.' David channeled his mana to his feet, the moonlight glowing below.
At the same time, arms outstretched, Edmund dove forward, his arms closing in from either side, attempting to cut off David's escape. His jaws wide open, ready for any attempt at attacking him head on.
BANG
There was an explosion of electricity and a blaze of golden light, when Edmund pounced onto his target. Under his claws, Edmund's expected to find the scorched and torn remains of David's body.
But once again, he had missed.
