"Huh?" David felt as though he had been swept up in a whirlwind. Was Johann going to be gambling on him? While he fought in Mathan's arena?
"Come along now, you can't clog up the entryway. Go to waiting room one hundred and seven. You'll be notified when it's your turn to fight." Gunther herded David up to one of main staircases that disappeared up into the dim ceiling.
"You're a new fighter, so it might take some time to find someone who will take you on, but I'm sure I can arrange something." Gunter gave David a cheeky wink, returning to his desk, leaving David on the stairs.
David walked up the carved stone stairs, at the top of the stairs, he came across the first of the waiting rooms.
The door was open, made of a single piece of wood, banded with steel, and the room inside was hollowed from the stone.
The bed was hollowed from the stone, and on it lay a gargoyle, reading a thin book by the light of an oil lamp set next to the bed.
