Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Poison Extraction

"Hey, what are you doing?"

That question was necessary because instead of leaving her there to fight off the Komodo Dragons, he was lifting her from the ground putting her arm around his shoulder so that she could use him as support.

"I'm helping you off the ground, obviously." He responded.

"Yeah, but that's only going to…."

She wasn't able to finish that statement as her head slowly slumped to the side.

Her breathing was getting fainter by the second and she was sweating quite profusely, the only thing still keeping her conscious was her sheer will, but that could only take her so far.

"I'm only going to slow you down." She mumbled.

'If the poison spreads any further, she's not going to make it.'

One of the Dragons blasted a fire stream toward them from its mouth at that moment but Arsha was fast enough to jump forward before the flames could get to them.

'It'll be terrible if that hits her while she's suffering from this.' He thought before placing his hand on her stomach. 'This is where being too nice and gullible gets you.'

His hand suddenly got covered by a faint blue glow and just at that moment, Claudia let out a groan as she felt something begin to build up in her stomach.

"This would have been easier if the poison came in through the mouth, injected poison is hard to deal with."

Whatever he was doing, it was sure causing her a ton of pain, and to prevent herself from crying out in pain, she scrunched up her face and gritted her teeth.

"Okay, that should be all of them now, time to go up."

This part of the process was way more painful than whatever he was doing initially and she couldn't endure the pain this time.

"Mhhhhhhh." The cry of pain ended up coming out muffled because she tried really hard to keep her voice down.

Her eyes were closed now and the tears she had been trying so hard to hold in were rolling down her cheeks now.

With the distance between him and the beasts now, he could have easily escaped with her if he wanted to but for some reason, he wasn't considering that option.

"Hey." He called. "You're definitely not going to like what I'm about to do now so if you don't want me to, I can just stop here till we get out of here but you'll have to wait a little while of course."

"Do it." She mumbled. "If it's going to stop this pain then just go ahead and do it."

Getting that response from her, Arsha stared at her face for a while before taking a deep breath.

"Alright then." He said before pressing his lips against hers forcing her to finally open her eyes in shock.

"Huh?"

From any angle, it looked like a somewhat passionate kiss between two people but what Arsha was after here was her mouth, something needed to be sucked out and this was the only way.

With their mouths still against each other's, he took a deep breath before beginning the process.

She immediately felt a suction around her chest at that moment as something got pulled out from there, through her throat and before she knew it, it flew out her mouth.

Arsha pulled back at that moment and spit out a greenish substance before cleaning his mouth with his hand.

"There, you should be okay now."

Her arm slowly slipped off his shoulder at that moment as she slowly slumped to the ground with her gaze on him.

The effects of the poison weren't going to wear off immediately but she was feeling a little better now and that excruciating pain was gone.

"What did you do?"

"I pulled out the poison from your bloodstream with my ability and then sucked it out." He explained.

"You can do something like that?" She muttered with a bewildered look on her face.

"Yeah, but we can talk about that later." He said before squatting down in front of her. "I'll be borrowing this for a moment." He added before pulling out her sword from its sheath.

"Wait, do you really..."

Before she could finish that question, he was already in front of one of the Komodo Dragons.

The beast opened its mouth to blast him with flames at that mouth but before it could do that, he chucked his hand into its mouth and blasted a strong force of water in there blowing the beast into numerous pieces.

"What?"

Claudia was stunned beyond belief, after what happened with the peacock she didn't believe that he would be able to take down a Master Tier beast that easily, it felt like an illusion but she knew it was real.

"Just who is this…..guy?"

Her head was starting to feel a little light after everything that had happened and before she knew it, she was lying unconscious on the floor.

Seeing its mate get blown into pieces like that, the other Komodo Dragon quickly launched a punch of fire attacks toward him.

Fire blast from the front and fireballs from the side, the attacks created a lot of smoke and kicked up a lot of dust but it didn't take that long for all of it to clear up, and when it did, Arsha was no longer standing there.

"Try faster next time."

He was right behind the Dragon and just before the beast could turn around and do something, he grabbed it by its tail and slammed it on the floor exposing its underbelly just like he wanted.

"Alright, let's wrap this up."

He picked up Claudia's sword at that moment and quickly stabbed the beast with it before infusing it with mana.

With the blade now infused with mana, he let go of it because that was all he needed to do.

Wind blade after wind blade kept hitting the beast internally as it hissed in pain while struggling to get up on its feet but all that was futile and after a little while, it stopped moving.

The beast was dead now, so he went ahead to pull the sword out before using it to carve out its crystal core.

Master Tier beasts were known for having red crystals and this one was no exception.

"That's a thousand and two hundred Peculas." He said as he held up the crystal. "If I decide to sell it that is." He added before throwing the crystal into his pocket.

He had already picked up the one from the Dragon he blew up so he was just about done here.

"It'll probably be too much to abandon her here after going through the trouble to save her." He muttered just after turning his gaze to Claudia who was still unconscious on the floor.
