Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: New Beast

Watching Arsha releasing those hydro threads from the floor from just tapping his foot on the floor reminded Claudia of how he helped her yesterday and there was this bright glow of amazement in her eyes as she stared at the dogs fighting for their lives in the air.

It had been about ten seconds since Arsha restrained the dogs and since then he had just been standing there.

"Hey, are you…"

Just before she could finish what she wanted to say, he came crashing down with his left knee.

"Are you okay?" She inquired as she moved closer to him.

On getting close enough, she noticed that something was actually wrong.

He was breathing heavier than normal and his forehead was covered in sweat that was starting to roll down his face now.

"Mana exhaustion." She muttered before squatting down beside him. "I know you have mana deficiency but from what I've seen this shouldn't be enough to drain it all."

"It didn't." He shook his head. "I forgot to mention but those beasts are known to absorb the mana of anything they come into contact with." He disclosed.

"Oh, I see. If that's the case then your hydro threads…."

"Yeah, they're going to disappear soon so you….."

"Don't worry, I know what to do." She interrupted before slowly getting up on her feet.

"Hey, Sir. Gravin." She called as she turned to him.

"Huh?"

"I know you told Arsha to do it, but I can give him a hand, right?" She requested.

"Sure, go ahead, I anticipated this anyway."

"Alright, then." She smiled before turning to the beasts.

She slowly raised her sword with both hands pointing it toward the beasts as her body flickered with lightning.

In the blink of an eye, she took off straight toward the beast she was facing before quickly going round taking every single one of them and once she was done she returned to the point from where she started.

It took her just three seconds to speed around them to take all of them down, the only thing Jessica and Kyle saw was a flicker of lightning quickly go around them before returning to the spot she was standing on now.

She also did a very good job because all the wild dogs were on the ground now with their heads separated from their bodies.

"I know you're fast but since when were you that fast?" Jessica had quite a stunned expression on her face. "That was faster than most of the speedsters in our class."

"Yeah, but I can't use it for too long or my lightning starts running rampant, it can be destructive to the surroundings." She responded.

"That might be good in certain situations, it's a good thing that you can pump out that much speed as a lightning mage to begin with, although, I do know another lightning mage who can run that fast while keeping her lightning in check." Gravin articulated. "I suppose all of you already know who I'm talking about."

"Yeah, but it's too bad she doesn't get to put it to use more often since she's always flying," Claudia said before turning her gaze to Arsha who was on both knees now.

"Well, we're always on the floor so it makes sense that she'll enjoy flying more."

Ignoring what Gravin just said, she made her way over to Arsha and squatted beside him.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'll be alright."

He tried to force himself up on his feet but he was only able to get one knee up.

"If you're that adamant to get up at least let me give you a hand."

He would have never asked for it but she gently placed his left arm around her shoulder before proceeding to help him off his feet and be his support.

"There we go." She smiled hoping that he would return the smile but it was still the same with him.

Well, not exactly the same because he didn't have that peculiar cold expression but his face was still as blank as ever.

"What are you doing, Claudia?" Jessica inquired with her gaze on her roommate.

She looked quite disgusted.

"Huh?" Claudia responded with a confused expression on her face.

"That guy threatened to melt your arm off just a few minutes ago and you're helping him?"

"Yeah, but he also just saved my life so the best I can do is help him up." She retorted.

"But….."

"Alright, that's enough," Gravin uttered as he joined both of his hands together to call their attention.

Jessica just couldn't stand looking at Arsha with his arm around Claudia's shoulders and she was giving him quite the death glare but it's not like he cared.

"Alright, I think it's time to explain why you're here."

"What? You mean that wasn't the reason?"

"Of course not, Claudia, I wouldn't bring you out here just to fight random wild dogs."

"Then just go ahead and tell us!" Kyle snapped.

"Alright." Gravin nodded before turning to the right path. "A few days ago, I saw something strange."

"Something strange?"

"Yeah, a peacock."

"It was a beast, right?" Claudia inquired.

"Yes, but not just any beast, it was a dual elemental beast." He disclosed.

"Dual elemental?" Claudia gasped.

"But those don't exist, right?"

"Are you sure you actually saw something or are you sending us on a wild goose chase here?" Kyle inquired trying to sound as objective as possible.

"You don't have to worry about that, I actually fought the thing."

"You fought it?"

"Yes, and I also have videos and pictures."

He stretched his right hand at that moment and pulled a tablet out of a small portal.

"Take a look."

Kyle had to step closer to see it and now he had a shocked expression on his face, he wasn't the only one though.

Arsha on the other hand had a subtle intriguing look on his face.

"So it's fire and ice," Jessica muttered.

"But I don't understand Sir. Garvin." Claudia remarked.

"What don't you understand?"

"If you fought it then you should have been able to take it down and I don't see how we can help against a Lord-tier beast." She expressed.

"Actually, it's a Master Tier beast but it's pretty close to evolution."

"Oh."

"Letting it go was a mistake but now that it's running free, I think it'll be a nice idea to have you guys catch it instead." He grinned.

"C….atch it?" Jessica stuttered.

"What do you mean, catch it?"
