Eliza walked out of the elevator and immediately caught everyone's eyes as she walked along, smiling sweetly at them and waving if necessary.
'Ah, why did it feel like I suddenly became a celebrity?' She thought and finally reached the designer's second department.
As soon as she walked in, all eyes fell on her.
"Hello, my name is Eliza." She greeted, smiling sweetly.
"Um, are you sure you're in the right place?" A lady asked her and she nodded.
"Uh, yes. Isn't this the second designing department?" She asked, hoping she didn't get the places wrong.
"Yeah but... Are you sure you're here as a designer? I mean, you look more like a model." She pointed out and Eliza remembered her get up was still like this.
How did she not expect them to be mistaken?
"No, it's not like that. I'm here to be a designer and I dressed up a bit so that I could impress the interviewers."
'A bit?' They looked at her with blank stares.
To avoid this awkward atmosphere, she decided to show her work.
"I even made a few design samples. Here's my portfolio." She handed it over to the lady who took it with a not so convinced face.
"Ah, right." She looked at it and turned around. "Emily!" She called and the girl named Emily walked towards them with a measuring tape hung around her neck.
"Yes?" Emily answered.
"Help Eliza settle in and give her a dress to work with." Maggie ordered.
"Sure!" Emily said and then turned to Eliza. "Come with me." Eliza followed steadily and the staring from behind wouldn't cease a bit.
"She's got one tough figure." Maggie exclaimed, shaking her head.
Eliza was given a dress to work on. It was almost finished but had lost its sense of fashion, so Eliza's first job was to bring the dress back to life.
About an hour later, Emily came over to check how she was doing and was amazed to see how far she had gone.
"Wow! It's so beautiful now!" Emily remarked with her mouth agape.
"Thanks!" Eliza said after removing the pins from her mouth. "I'm almost done, I just need to sew it all together."
"I'll check if there's any available machine for you to use."
"It's no problem. I'll use a regular needle and thread." Eliza said.
"Are you sure? I mean, the needle's gonna take a long time to sew. Plus, I'm not sure the stitches will be straight." Emily said.
"Don't worry, I can handle this." Eliza assured confidently and Emily took her words to heart.
"Alright then, call me if you need anything." Emily said and left. Seeing Emily was gone, Eliza gave out a weary sigh and then looked at the dress. It was so beautiful and was held up with pins. She would have to remove the pins and sew gradually.
"Where's the vamp?" Felix asked, crossing his legs on an office chair.
"Well, she's working now." Jellal answered standing at his front with his hand in his pocket. Felix grinned in doubt.
"What could possibly come out from a pretender?" Felix answered not requesting an answer. "Let's see how far she's gone." He said and snapped his finger.
Pete, who had been sitting still with his eyes shut, heard the snap and understood it as a go-ahead. He stood up, flashed a smile at no one and shoved his fingers through his hair.
"No girl can ever resist me." He said to the hearing of all and walked out with so much confidence.
Once he was gone, Jellal adjusted his hat a bit and walked out after Pete. (Note: Anytime Jellal adjusts his hat, see it as a goodbye. It's kind of a habit).
Felix shut his eyes for a moment and then opened them, a grin escaped his lips as he thought of how well Eliza's act was.
He uncrossed his legs slowly and stood up. He stood, staring through the big see through glass.
Such a big city but so little to see. He closed his eyes as the feeling of loneliness suddenly filled his heart. He once thought with the fame, popularity and wealth, everyone running after him would fill in the space that his family could have filled but, it was all a lie. The space remained empty and so it will be until he exposes himself to love.
Pete walked with swagger to Eliza's working department. He walked over and all the ladies couldn't help but scream and attract the attention of everyone in the department.
Eliza heard the screams and rolled her eyes on recognising the genre of the scream.
"I'm sure a pretty boy's out there making them jingle." She said to herself. "So annoying." She tried to concentrate but the screams kept irritating her ears. She made up her mind to shut the door.
Just as she reached the door and was about to close it, a foot obstructed it.
"What? Foot?!" She was confused and then opened the door wide to see the owner of the foot that obstructed her. She opened it and saw Pete.
At first, she didn't recognize him to be Pete or one of the F4 but when she took a closer look, she gasped and forcefully closed the door. Her breath almost ceased on realizing he was one of the F4.
"What is he doing here? Why do they choose to torment my life here?" She asked herself.
"This vamp, she shut the door on my face. No one ever dares to shut the door on me." Pete said to himself not to the hearing of other girls.
"What's going on? Why did she shut the door?"
"She must be crazy to have shut the door on him."
"Maybe she didn't see his face. Any girl in their right senses wouldn't shut the door at Pete." Another girl said dreamingly.
Maggie sneered at the girls and they all shut up.
"To your duties!" She commanded and they all scurried to their post. She walked up to Pete. "Is there anything I can do for you?" She asked with a friendly smile.
"Yeah, just let me talk to her in peace. I don't want any form of disturbance." Pete instructed and Maggie nodded. He faced the door and proceeded to open it.
