Chapter 49 - Plan's Behind the Walls

Evander inquired of Grand Duke Armista about the current location of Lucious, who was supposed to meet them at 11 pm. However, it was already half an hour past the agreed-upon time, and Lucious had yet to appear. Grand Duke Armista expressed his uncertainty about Lucious's whereabouts and questioned the meeting time specified by Lucious.

The grand duke and Evander waited anxiously for Lucious, but he never arrived. The passage of time only added to their concern, and they decided to investigate. As they approached Lucious's office, they could hear the faint sound of snoring. When they opened the door, they found him slumped in his chair, surrounded by empty bottles of alcohol. Lucious was fast asleep, oblivious to the worries of his friends. Evander and the Grand Duke were very confused as Luscious wasn't the type of person to drink alcohol till he dropped. However, there was nothing they could do but quietly clean up all the mess in his office. After they finished, the Grand Duke put his jacket on top of Luscious so he wouldn't get cold, and they left him still sleeping on his chair.

A few days has already passed...

Lucious continues to maintain a distance from his wife, fearing that he may unintentionally injure her again. Currently, his primary focus is the investigation of Prince Rahim's incident. Unfortunately, he has been able to uncover only a single clue, which is a record of the prince's three-month imprisonment sentence by Emperor Kishendren.

This sentence has raised several questions for Lucious, particularly given the severity of the crime committed by the prince. As the prince was responsible for the death of a high-ranking noble, his sentence seems insufficiently severe. It is unclear to Lucious why Emperor Kishendren, who is known to be averse to such atrocious acts, would sentence the prince so leniently, despite his love for his children.

Lucious is confused about the emperor's actions and is determined to discover the truth behind the incident. He is investigating the matter diligently, but he has been unable to gather much information so far. Lucious is known for his meticulous approach to investigations, and he is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for answers.

In the meantime, the Grand Duke and Evander remain unaware of Lucious's investigation into the deceased heir of their clan. Lucious is keeping his investigation a secret, as he does not want to cause any undue concern or panic.

Amaris, the youngest and most beloved daughter of the Emperor, has been trying to cope with the weight of recent events that have been unfolding in the kingdom. Despite the turmoil, she has been spending most of her time with her father, the Emperor, and her elder brother, Prince Damien, who has been a pillar of strength for her.

While the two siblings have been supporting each other, their younger brother, Prince Rahim, has been left alone in his cell, where he is slowly losing his sanity. The once charming and charismatic prince has now become a shadow of his former self and spends his days hurting himself in an attempt to escape and get the attention of the Emperor. However, his efforts are in vain, and he is left to suffer in his misery.

As Amaris watches her brother's gradual descent into madness, she cannot help but feel helpless. She longs to reach out to her husband, who has been distant lately, but she knows that her family needs her now more than ever. In the midst of all this, the Grand Duke is the only one who seems to care about Prince Rahim's well-being. He frequently visits the young prince, bringing him books, food, and words of comfort, and in doing so, he offers a ray of hope in the midst of this bleak situation.

The grand duke's facade was a carefully orchestrated plan to manipulate the mad prince and ultimately exact revenge for the heinous act that caused him immense pain. The grand duke was resolute in his desire to make the prince suffer just as he did when the prince killed his firstborn son and heir. The grand duke's son had been his pride and joy, and the prince's actions dealt him a blow that he would never fully recover from.

The deceased empress's interference had prevented the prince from receiving a proper punishment for his actions. The grand duke, however, was determined to ensure that the prince would not escape justice. The grand duke's plan was meticulously crafted to achieve his ultimate goal.

The grand duke's motivation for revenge was not born out of a sense of cruelty or malice, but rather from a desire for justice and closure. The prince's actions had caused the grand duke immeasurable pain, and he was determined to see the prince pay for his crime.

Grand Duke Armista was a man consumed by a burning desire for revenge. His second-born son, Evander, was his only ally in his quest to bring justice to his family. The reason for Armista's unbridled anger was that his son was killed unjustly by Prince Rahim.

Armista had tried to seek justice through the proper channels, but the prince's power and influence had made it impossible. In the end, Armista was left with nothing but his own rage and a deep sense of injustice. He began to plot his revenge, and Evander was the only one who stood by his side, despite the danger.

As he planned his attack, Armista couldn't help but question the morality of his actions. He wondered if he was turning into a monster, consumed by his own hatred. But then, he remembered his son's face and his heart filled with a burning rage.

Armista knew that he could never rest until he had avenged his son's death. He began to gather allies and resources, drawing on his vast wealth and influence to build a network of loyal supporters. Evander was his right-hand man, a fierce warrior who was willing to do whatever it took to avenge his brother's death.

The road to revenge was long and treacherous. Armista and Evander faced many obstacles, including the wrath of the emperor himself. But nothing could stop them, not when they were fighting for what they believed was right. As they drew closer to their goal, Armista began to wonder if the price of revenge was worth it. But for him, there was no turning back. His son's death had to be avenged, no matter the cost.
