Frank falls with a hole in his head. The remains of his brain fell scattered on the ground.
"Phew..." Barry exhaled a long breath. Finally, it's all over.
But then, he felt his consciousness start to disappear. He fell to his knees and his vision was blurry.
'What happened to me?'
Barry tried to force his brain to think. But his brain wouldn't respond, leaving him in a constant state of confusion.
Then something an answer suddenly come to him in his head.
'I've used too many skills at once.'
Barry dropped to the ground. He still doesn't know what effect will happen to his body if he runs out of Magic Power. Will his body be destroyed? Will his brain melt?
He had read quite a lot of stories about it and each story had different consequences if one ran out of Magic Power. Maybe now he has to experience it himself to know the answer.
"Hey!" Elaine's voice came closer. "What's happening to you?!"
She sounded worried. She got in front of Barry and propped his head on her thighs.
"Shit. What should I do?!" Elaine screamed in panic.
"Just... Just let me rest for a few minutes. I'll be fine," Barry said.
He couldn't hear Elaine's words anymore because his consciousness had now completely disappeared. Barry hopes that Elaine can take him to a safe place to rest.
And he also hoped that he wouldn't die because he ran out of Magic Power.
---
Barry opened his eyes. The first sight he saw was the sky which had turned orange behind the window.
'It's already afternoon.'
Barry tried to move his hand. It turns out that he can move his hands normally. His whole body also feels much better.
Barry immediately looked at his status window and saw that his Magic Power and overall Attributes had recovered.
He breathed a sigh of relief. Barry looked around and saw Elaine sitting staring at the window on the other side of the room. He could only see her back.
They were now inside of a building that seemed to be an abandoned factory. Long before the apocalypse began.
Barry stood up from his place. Suddenly he heard the sound of crackle of lightning. When he looked up, Barry saw Elaine pointing at him with hand covered in lightning.
"I thought you were a monster," Elaine said with a sigh of relief.
Barry could see how tense Elaine was. Since earlier, she has been staring at the window guarding area outside if this building. Barry seemed to be able to imagine the amount of pressure she felt.
"Sorry. Looks like I slept for too long," Barry said then walked over to her.
"It's good that you're awake now. Luckily nothing appeared."
"What's the time now?" Barry asked.
"I don't know. My phone is gone."
Barry sighed. "Me too. Where are we now?"
"Don't worry. We are in the building close to where we fought earlier. Our car is still there too."
Barry looked through the window and found that their car was still in its original place.
"This is weird," Elaine said.
"What?"
"This city is too quiet. I'm grateful because there are no monsters or zombies or another people coming to us. But I haven't seen anything passing by for the past few hours."
Barry frowned. "It is weird."
'It was as if they all purposely left this area and went somewhere together. Maybe... Something attracting them?'
Barry held back from saying that because it would make Elaine even more scared. He can't add to her burden any more.
"Anyway, its a good thing for us. We have to continue our journey now."
Elaine nodded hearing his words, as if she was eager to leave immediately.
They returned to the car. No threat will come and hinder them anymore.
They immediately left with Elaine driving the car quickly.
They had arrived at the address where Elaine's house was. Soon they will arrive.
However, Barry started to worry about how he would continue his journey now that Elaine had arrived at her house.
Even though his house is not that far away, when the sky gets darker the risk will also be higher.
Elaine noticed the change in Barry's face. She knows what he's thinking.
"Don't worry. After I arrive and ask my father for help, I will take you to your house," Elaine said.
Barry looked over. "You sure?"
"Of course. I won't leave you alone after what you did for me."
Barry smiled. It turns out that Elaine is quite considerate of his circumstances.
Barry really wanted to ask her to provide him with some kind of protection to take him to his house. But apparently he didn't need to say that.
After a few minutes of walking on a street full of abandoned cars and mangled corpses, Elaine could finally see her house.
Barry who saw it was quite surprised, but it was not something beyond his expectations because he already knew Elaine's background.
The house is more like a mansion that stands in the middle of a very large area of land. The tall iron gate across the front of it which unfortunately has been destroyed by something.
"Shit." Elaine cursed, biting her lips.
Barry just kept silent because he didn't know what he could say in a situation like this. The condition of Elaine's house doesn't look good. Most likely there is something strong that managed to break into the house.
She stopped the car and was about to rush out but Barry stopped her.
"Don't be reckless."
"But-"
"I know. But what can you do if you are also killed by whatever managed to break through that iron gate?" Barry said.
Elaine bit her lips tighter.
"We're going out together. My Magic Power is already full."
So, they both got out of the car. Barry was holding his gun which now only had 5 bullets left. He hopes its enough.
When you entered the house the view was quite scary. Most of its walls have been destroyed by whatever it is that broke through the gate.
Barry could see a lot of shell casings and bullet holes scattered around, a sign that there was a big battle here.
And then, they appears. It was giant sewer rats, two of them.
