"The Essence of Darkness is near."
They all heard those words come out of Barry's mouth in the morning when they had just opened their eyes. Not something they expected to greet them in the morning but they couldn't really complain about it.
Elaine rubs her face. "I still haven't had time to wash my face," she grumbled in the raspy voice typical of someone who has just woken up.
Barry who heard that glanced at her with a strange glint in his eyes. He never thought that Elaine's raspy voice could make him feel something in his heart.
Deciding not to dwell on that weird feeling, Barry stood up and walked towards the hut window. The hut is located in the middle of the forest so there are no neighbors around them apart from trees.
Sunlight penetrates through the trees, touching the surface of the soil and the plants below. The dew makes them seem to shine.
"I still haven't seen the thing," Barry said looking out.
