The Duke couldn't wait to see what other amazing stuff did Max brought with him. when Max saw the Duke, he was not the same old you who loved dignified but instead of that he looked like and child full of curiosity.
Max showd him and another item it was an torch that used batteries it was a simple thing. He told Duke that it can be used in dark places as and source of light. The Duke the Duke was not surprised to see it he told match that images were easily able to create light using magic and the Mana crystals inside the monsters could also be used the light sources.
Max was not someone to back down he had already prepared everything with him he told the Duke that from what he heard whenever the adventurers enter the dungeon mages often used their light magic to navigate the way and tend to use up all their Mana.
Even the Mana crystals were was so costly and expensive that they could be only used by the nobility and the streets of of city were always dark.
The Duke replied to him by saying that it was true but he couldn't do anything about it. After hearing those words max immediately told the Duke that the torch didn't require Mana crystals or any form of magic it can be used with the help of simple batteries.
Batteries were an object write the people of the fantasy world never new about their technology was not so high and advanced enough.at first that you couldn't understand what Max was trying to explain but when Max showd him the use of the torch even in the daytime the torch would release such a bright light it was an amazing object.
The Duke was amazed by the items Max brought but that you thought that the batteries were an expensive material so even if they were useful it's not something that everyone can use. Max smiled and told the Duke that batteries were nott expensive they were and cost effective . Even the commoners can buy it .
The Duke was surprised to hear Max words such an amazing item could be cheap enough for even the commoners to buy ,it was something that could bring a huge change in the empire.
The Duke asked max about the whereabouts of the place where he brought these amazing items from. Max hesitated and was not able to meet eye with the Duke .the duky realised that it was something that Max wasn't able to tell at that moment so he decided to drop the topic Max was relief that the Duke didn't try to use his authority and make him answer his questions he respected max and didn't wanted to force him.
Max tried to change the topic and presented the Duke with crystal like glasses and expensive wine bottles all the things that makes shown the Duke was something that made the Duke excited and amazed like a little kid.
Just as a Duke was having fun his butler entered the conversation any reminded the Duke the reason why he called Max. The Duke head totally forgotten about the reason he called Max due to the excitement.
He quickly came back in his dignified form and tolded max that he invited him today to deliver the message from the king himself. Max was surprise to hear those words he never thought that his actions could even reach the king. He thought that maybe doing such a huge business had affected the king somehow and maybe the king would try to use the opportunity to punish him or use him for his own gain.
The Duke tolded max that the king had listened about Max deeds and he was happy to hear them and wanted to reward Max so that King invited him to the royal palace.
Max was surprised to hear those words ,he never expected to be summomed in the royal palace at all. he felt scared to meet the nobles of the capital he often Heard from others that the nobles often try to take over business of the merchants and try to take them under the wing and use him for them own benefit.
The Duke was able to realise that makes was somewhat uneasy the Duke promised max that he will personally escort him to the palace and take full responsibility for maths and he will not let any greedy Nobel approach him.
Hearing the words at first Max declined as he didn't wanted to disturb the Duke and that how could he ask for the Duke of an country to be an escort.
The Duke laughed and tolded max that he was not simply escorting him the king had also ordered the Duke to come . And it was the king who ordered him to escort Max. The Duke also already backs that even if the king didn't order it he would have still escorted Max as he considered him to be friend.
Hearing the words "friend" Max had realised that his simple actions he toom benefited him so much that he was able to befriend the Duke himself. Altho Max did come to the Duke with the intention of getting on his good side but he never thought that he would be actually able to make friends with the Duke.
The Duke asked Max to free up his schedule for a 3 weeks period of time and that they have to leave the sky high city in a week's time so he can finish up his work and get ready to depart for the royal capital .
The time for Duke to depart had already came he had to go and check on the dungeons he asked max to talk with his buttler regarding the torch and the batteries he brought he Even asked the butler to make a nice business deal.
Both Max and the butler started the negotiation fiercely. Max was already assigned the cost of selling the batteries and the torch and he had already doubled its price to an a profit. When the negotiation with the butler started he hadn't realise but he was losing the negotiation he should almost reached the cost assigned by the system. He immediately used the system and increased his negotiation points and his knowledge attribute. He was then able to get the first hand on the negotiation ,althogh he wasn't able to exactly sell at the double price but he still able to make a nice profit.
He as the butler about how many torches and batteries would he be buying. Max thought that he would be able to sell at least a thousand batteries and 500 torches, but he was surprise to hear the butlers words The butler asked for a total of 20000 batteries and 10000 torches. It wasn't a small amount.
It was no small amount if Max solded such a huge amount he could make profit of atleast 2000 golds. Max was happy to hear those words but he also new that he have to go shopping in the modern world once again...
The negotiations went perfectly and the contract was signed the butler congratulated max for the trade. Max was happy to see the butlers behaviour toward him. By this visit Max was able to learn one thing and it was that the Duke was a good man and even his subjects were all kind.
As Max went back he was escorted by the Duke carriage the moment he is stepped out of the carriage Veronica ,the branch manager and his other employees of the delivery agency rushed towards him and checked his whole body for any kind of injury and asked him if he was alright seeing them worry about him max had realised that in this world he had people who cared for him and waits for his return.
