Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Golden Finger

Within one of the four major subsidiary universes, the [Magical Civilization Universe], there are countless material planes, vast and endless like grains of sand.

Material Plane - Violet.

Scott Empire.

Blackstone Town, a rural area with modest natural resources but some reserves of cheap minerals.

Three years ago, a new and stylishly unique mansion was built in the town, standing out from the surrounding architecture with its green tiles and red eaves. Two imposing and uniquely designed lion-like magical beast stone sculptures flanked the classical and elegant gate.

This was the residence of the emerging artistic master, Baron Lin En.

"Wah wah…"

The loud cries announced the arrival of a new life.

As news of this event spread quickly through Blackstone Town, the common folk rejoiced and celebrated, happy for Lin En.

Reflecting on his emotions, Lin En was glad he hadn't fixated solely on solitary cultivation. Otherwise, he wouldn't have known when he would have activated the system. He even thought that if he had been born with superior talent, he likely wouldn't have started a family so soon.

Fate is indeed unpredictable.

One month later.

His days were filled with cultivation, and spending time with his wife and child.

Lin En came to terms with his situation, finding peace in the orderly rhythm of his life.

Taking a deep breath to adjust his mindset, he closed his eyes and meditated.

During his daily meditation at home, Lin En absorbed the water elements from the surroundings into his dantian, slowly refining them into strands of emerald mist, integrating them with his liquefied magical power.

After instructing the maids to take good care of his wife and child, Lin En headed to the basement of his baronial mansion, a place where he often practiced magic due to its quietness.

The basement was sturdy and safe. Constructed with various precious materials and laboriously set with defensive magic circles, it had cost him a significant portion of his savings over the years but proved its worth by resisting attacks from beasts below level eight.

"But to think I also have talents in death and fate!"

[Realm: Level 6 Mage]

[Elemental Talent: Superior Water, Medium Dark]

"A level 7 magical beast, bipedal dragon!"

Feeling the pressure, a scorching fireball descended from the sky.

Lin En's eyes narrowed as he pulled out a black wand inlaid with a level 8 water elemental magic core from his sleeve. He quickly recited an incantation, gathering water elements to create a moist air barrier. A wall of rippling water rose before him, blocking the fiery attack, and he prepared for a counterstrike.

"Stop, stop, stop, it's me!"

Selena, holding their child and looking tenderly at him, spoke.

Lin En maintained his composure, but inside, he was deeply moved.

In the master bedroom.

Lin En's magical power briefly halted, noticing for the first time someone lying on the back of the flying dragon, his expression somewhat odd.

The system's golden finger!

This was the correct way to unlock its potential!

So, now he needed to buy some time before making his retreat.

Having a superior talent in a single elemental system was even better than having high-level talents in multiple systems, as talent determined one's potential in this world.

Only with a superior elemental affinity could one have a chance to step into the Sanctuary realm.

The limit for those with high-level talents was level 9!

Without a significant opportunity, no matter how much effort one puts in, it would all be a waste of time.

This was the life lesson he had learned in his 32 years since being reborn in this world.

After completing his meditation session.

The news gradually began to ferment...

He took the time to manage the town's taxes and organize the clearing of nearby magical beasts.

A level 7 Grand Mage!

Selena was overjoyed, "That's wonderful!"

The liquefaction of magical power represents a qualitative transformation. Starting from level 7, one enters the higher stages of cultivation, where there is a significant difference in strength and status compared to level 6.

Although his dark elemental talent had strengthened, Lin En still planned to specialize in the water element for more efficient progression.

Suddenly, she sensed a strong fluctuation of water elemental magic.

As a level 5 water mage, she was particularly sensitive to this.

[Rule Talent: Medium Death, Medium Fate]

[System Activation Detected: 'Many Children, Many Blessings', reward granted – Water, Dark, Death, and Fate elemental talents upgraded by one level]

[System Notification: 'Many Children, Many Blessings' – Rewards for the 1st, 10th, and 100th descendant of each generation]

Lin En was pleasantly surprised. The four major rules were mysterious and elusive, usually undetectable. He had been unaware of his own talents until now.

As someone who had experienced death in his previous life, having death and fate rule talents seemed fitting.

[Host: Lin En]

Ten minutes later.

Lin En's expression changed drastically, and he immediately went outside. Looking up, he saw a green magical beast circling in the sky. It was over ten meters tall, with a wingspan of more than twenty meters, thick legs, and long arms with sharp claws.

Upon checking his talent section, Lin En was ecstatic!

With a superior talent, Lin En now had the potential to reach the Sanctuary level – a pivotal turning point that outweighed everything else.

In this foreign world, he had truly established his roots.

"Ding, 'Many Children, Many Blessings' system activated!"

Transforming water into ice, numerous ice swords appeared, ready for a desperate fight.

Information flashed through Lin En's mind, and once he absorbed it, a virtual screen visible only to him appeared before his eyes.

Lin En quickly realized that Selena would take their child and hide in the safe room, a tacit understanding between husband and wife.

Suddenly, a dragon's roar pierced the sky, sending a wave of intimidating pressure into the baron's mansion.

As a level 6 water mage, Lin En knew that dual-element mages were rare due to the limits of human concentration and energy.

At this moment.

Lin En gradually reached his peak state, with a massive amount of green water elements gathering around him, filling the space. Black dark elements were pushed to the corners, occupying only a tiny portion.

Time flew, and a year later.

Lin En, invigorated, remarked, "As expected of superior elemental affinity, the efficiency is several times faster than before!"

But all was well.

Lin En, coming back to his senses, nodded with a smile, "Good!"

A young man with black hair and wearing mage robes sat by the edge of a large, soft bed. He gazed at Selena, sweating profusely and looking weak and gaunt, and the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes nestled beside her. A surge of emotion and a sense of belonging filled his heart.

"It's a boy. As we discussed earlier, let's name him Richie, Richie Lin En!"

Selena looked worriedly towards the direction of the basement. Lin En had been in seclusion for three days now!

Facing a level 7 magical beast, Lin En, as a human specializing in magic and relying on wands and other equipment, had at most a 40-50% chance of success.

The stronger their lord was, the more secure their lives were.

Amidst anxiety and anticipation, the basement door slowly opened, and Lin En emerged with a smile, nodding to his wife.

In the living room of the baron's mansion.

There sat a young man in a white long shirt, light green bell-bottom trousers, and a cloak. He smiled warmly at Lin En, with a mix of surprise and envy.

Regulos said, "I never thought you, the last among us to marry and have children, would be the first from our 360 dormitory to break through to a level 7 Grand Mage!"

Lin En, dressed in light blue noble attire, sat opposite, casually flicking his hair with a hint of pride in his smile.
