Chapter 16 - Power

When his eyes opened, David saw Jane still standing in front of him, as if she had done nothing all this time because her position was exactly the same as the last time he saw her.

However, he found that she was quite sweaty.

This was in an air-conditioned room. If it was outside, she would probably be completely covered in sweat.

His own body was currently very wet. His pants and shirt might need to be changed.

Jane just continued to stare at him, not asking anything.

She seemed to be giving him a chance to understand his power first.

Crack! Crack!

Cracking sounds echoed from inside David's body when he raised his hand.

At this moment, several lightning bolts appeared above his palm, able to form whatever he wanted, whether it was a sword or a spear.

One thing David was sure of was that he was very strong. He was sure he was stronger than most of the new Spiritual Beings.

And he was starting to figure out ways to increase his strength, like what he should do.

Conquering people and becoming their leader was one of them. That desire seemed to arise very strongly in his heart, as if there was an ambition to become a king and ruler.

Of course, that was only one of them.

Just like his speculation, conquering the hearts of beautiful women, then having them as his lovers seems to be useful as well since there is a desire for it.

This is indeed a characteristic of Zeus, who in the story has been married to many women.

David wanted to roll his eyes when he thought of that, but he didn't want to show such a reaction to Jane.

"Jane, thank you, you have changed my life," David said.

"You did well," Jane replied, giving David a compliment in response.

David then stood up, approaching the woman.

"You are the best woman," he said with one hand holding her waist with his other hand touching her beautiful face with a hint of sweat.

Hardly any rich woman would look at a poor man. Jane was a very rich woman, yet she helped a very ordinary man like David to reach another level of life.

Is this luck?

David didn't know, but he was sure that no man had such good fortune nowadays. Perhaps it didn't exist in ancient times either.

David kissed Jane's lips again, hugging her waist tighter.

Jane responded to that. She didn't seem to care about David's sweaty body.

Her hands wrapped around his neck while her tongue came out of her mouth to meet his.

Unfortunately, after only a minute of them kissing, the apartment door suddenly opened.

David and Jane heard the sound of the door, but they were slower to break the kiss than the movement of the door.

The person who opened the door could see them.

There were two people, Audrey and her friend Ella.

Both of them were shocked at the sight. Ella even covered her lips but then she chuckled amusedly.

"Look Audrey, your little brother is already a real man, but you are not yet a real woman, when will you find a boyfriend? Don't you know that making love is so much fun?" she said.

Hearing the woman's words, Audrey gave her a sharp look.

On the other hand, David wanted to laugh and cry.

Audrey was more than ten years older than him, but she had never dated. Sometimes even David felt sorry for her, but this could not be blamed on fate.

She was beautiful and intelligent, so many men liked her, but strangely she had never accepted a single man.

Who knows what the reason is.

Until now David was even convinced that she was a virgin.

Sometimes he suspected that she had no sexual desire because she seemed uninterested in anything to do with it. She never watched romance movies, let alone blue movies.

Audrey of course did not respond to Ella's words.

She stepped into the apartment as she motioned for Ella to enter.

Her eyes looked at David and occasionally at Jane.

The latter looked calm with a faint smile, as if she had no worries at all.

On the other hand, Ella continued to stare at Jane, seemingly in awe of her personality, even scrutinizing everything she wore.

And she clearly wondered why both of them were sweating.

Did they just have sex?

However, it doesn't seem like it as they never seem to take their clothes off.

It's just that even Ella, who seems to be good at talking, has a hard time greeting Jane.

Aside from the fact that they were not familiar, she also felt pressured to greet a girl from a family that controlled the world's economy.

David thought for a while before saying, "Sis, this is Jane, my girlfriend. Jane, this is my older sister, Audrey."

David introduced each of them, hoping there would be no more awkwardness.

When their gazes met, Jane nodded to Audrey.

However, they did not shake hands as neither of them reached forward to shake hands.

Jane probably didn't because she knew that Audrey wouldn't either.

Fortunately, Audrey returned Jane's nod. She also nodded to her after she did so.

From the way David saw it, it might take some time before they communicated.

Afterward, Audrey took Ella to her room.

It seemed that they had some business related to their work.

After the door to Audrey's room closed, David looked at Jane with a helpless expression.

"Jane, I don't blame you if you are offended by my sister's behavior," David said.

Jane was really not to blame because she had been too kind to him, but it turned out that his only family was quite cold to her.

"It will be fine later. I think your sister is just worried," Jane replied. "She doesn't hate or reject me, just worried about my background, worried that you'll be in trouble. She's not to blame. I'd probably act like her too if I were her."
