Chapter 1 - Description ( Everything you need to know about werewolf)

If you've been a fan of anything related to werewolves, you likely know about werewolf ranks. A pack of wolves usually has werewolf ranks that allow them not only to be cool, but functional as well.

If you want to know more about werewolf ranks, we compiled everything you need to know in this 3-minute guide.

So, put your seatbelt on, and let's go for a quick werewolf ranks ride.

As its name suggests, werewolf ranks are the hierarchy followed by a pack. As you may well know, a pack is a group of wolves with leaders and servants.

A pack of werewolves typically has a werewolf Alpha, Beta, and Omega. A pack also has a Luna and Gamma.

The Alpha holds the highest position in the pack. The Beta has the second-highest position, while the Gamma holds the third.

Omegas are among the lowest in the pack. Lunas, on the other hand, are the mates of the Alphas.

Werewolf Ranks Compared

Here's a quick comparison of werewolf ranks:

Alpha

The werewolf Alpha is the leader of the werewolf pack. Being an Alpha means holding the highest position in the pack. The Alpha is also the strongest in the werewolf pack. Much werewolf literature also refers to Alphas as the most attractive wolf in the pack.

In addition, the Alpha werewolf is often born into the title. In some cases, if a wolf thinks that the Alpha is not worthy of the title, that wolf can challenge the Alpha to a duel.

If the challenger wins, that wolf will be the new Alpha. It's because they have defeated the strongest in the pack.

They then become the new leader and their pups will continue getting the title.

The Alpha's mate is called Luna. Also known as the Alpha female, the Luna serves as the mother of the pack.

Beta

The werewolf Beta is second in command. Hence, the beta is the second strongest and the second most important title a werewolf can have. Some werewolf literature also refers to Betas as the second most attractive wolf in the pack.

They are usually born into the title like Alphas. However, Alpha usually picks their own Betas.

Usually, what happens is the next Alpha in line gets or chooses the son of the Beta. In some cases, this does not happen.

For instance, if an Alpha gets defeated, the new Alpha will choose their own Beta.

Gamma

The Gamma werewolf has the third-highest position in a pack. Therefore, the Gamma is the third strongest wolf in the pack. Some werewolf literature also refers to Gammas as the third most attractive wolf in the pack.

A werewolf Gamma is usually in charge of the warriors. They serve as the general and train the pack to make sure that everyone is fit for battles.

While they make battle plans, a werewolf Gamma still has to consult the Alpha werewolf.

A Gamma werewolf is usually born into the title. However, if there is a new Alpha, that Alpha gets to pick their own Gamma.

Omega

Omegas are servants who work in the pack house. A werewolf Omega usually does household chores and runs errands for their master.

There's not much literature about Omegas. It's because authors don't usually write about them. However, the main idea is they are the lowest in the pack.

Alpha Werewolf (Male and Female) Explained

Want to get to know your favorite Alpha werewolf more? Here are more details about them.

The alpha is the pack's leader. He is the most powerful and influential. This is the highest rank a wolf may achieve. Alphas are born with the designation. If a wolf believes the Alpha is not worthy or strong enough to care for the pack, he may challenge the Alpha to a fight to the death.

If the wolf wins, the wolf will become the new Alpha, having defeated the former Alpha, who was supposed to be the pack's strongest member. They take over as the new leader, and their offspring will carry on the line.

The Alpha Male's mate is the Alpha Female or Luna. She is the pack's mother figure. She's there to help the Alpha with his responsibilities. She is to be a forceful and robust woman.

Some authors will portray Luna as a shy stay-at-home mother whose sole purpose is to breed the next Alpha heir. Other authors will portray Luna as a strong female leader who does not conform to social norms. These types of Lunas, in our opinion, are the best.

Beta Werewolf (Male and Female) Explained

Second, in charge is the Beta. He is a wolf's second most powerful and influential title. Betas are normally born into it, but each new Alpha chooses their own Beta.

The most typical and well-known scenario is that the next Alpha in the family line gets or chooses the Beta's son, but this does not always occur. If an Alpha is challenged and defeated, the new Alpha will assume command and select their own Beta.

On the other hand, the Beta Female is the mate of the male Beta werewolf. The Beta female serves as the supporter of the Luna.

They are usually called upon to say their opinions and evaluations whenever the Alpha Female needs it. She is also second in command of the Luna. The Beta Female also supports the Beta werewolf.

Omega Werewolf (Male and Female) Explained

Omegas are merely servants. They assist with simple things in the pack house. Because few authors mention Omegas in their writings, there's not much information about them.

However, both male and female Omega werewolves aren't distinguished in a pack. They hold the lowest position relative to the Alpha. Omega werewolf is also a term used to describe a mere werewolf who usually doesn't go to battle.

Gamma Werewolf (Male and Female) Explained

Gammas, like Alphas and Betas, are normally born into it, but each new Alpha chooses their own Gamma. If an Alpha is challenged and defeated, for example, the new Alpha will take command and select their own Gamma.

On the other hand, the Gamma Female is the mate of the male Gamma werewolf. The Gamma Female also supports the Gamma werewolf. She also usually has a strong relationship with the Alpha Female and Beta Female.
