Chapter 70 - Chapter Seventy: Discovered

Two hours had passed, the room was quiet and peaceful. Eve was still asleep, her breathing steady and calm. Nearby, Lust sat in a armchair. She had promised Vaos she would watch over her, and she intended to keep that promise.

Lust let out a sigh, thinking about the inevitability of her situation. She knew her time was coming. Eventually, the Forbidden would discover her betrayal and her role in helping their enemies.

"I wonder if my disguise will buy me some time while I'm here, or if they've already seen through it," Lust said, her voice a whisper in the quiet room. "Forbidden Energy was acting strange when I was around him, like he suspected something." She shook her head. "If they're already on to me, there's only one thing left to do." With a smile, she grabbed her katana.

"I'll go destroy their portal and buy us more time," Lust said, her grip tightening on the katana. Just as she was about to leave, she felt the presence of void energy nearby.

Lust immediately left the room, and found herself face to face with Forbidden Illusion in the hallway. Memories of his abilities came back to her, how he could hide his presence and void energy using his illusion powers. The air around him seemed to distort.

"Looks like they were right all along; you're the traitor, Lust," Forbidden Illusion remarked with a calm tone.

"Ehh, I was really hoping to keep this a secret until after I had a chance to destroy the portal!" Lust pouted, though her demeanor remained composed. She understood the urgency of the situation; she had to confront Forbidden Illusion now, before he could interfere further.

"Before anything else, I need to know why," Forbidden Illusion said firmly, his expression serious as he confronted Lust. "Don't try to tell me it's because you want to live as a human too."

"No, because I've come to realize something, I don't owe anything to the boss or to the void," Lust replied.

"Why don't you join me, Illusion? Your help would be appreciated," Lust proposed, her tone persuasive. She understood that having Forbidden Illusion's assistance could smooth things, especially given his powers.

Forbidden Illusion extended his hand, forming it into a finger gun. From his index finger, a void bullet shot forth, aimed directly at Lust's core.

Lust effortlessly deflected the void bullet with her katana. She smirked faintly, her eyes narrowing. "Ehh, so it's going to be like that, huh?" she remarked.

Forbidden Illusion shot a barrage of void bullets, each one aimed at Lust . However, Lust skillfully deflected each bullet with her katana, "In that case, it looks like I'll have to deal with you right here and now," Lust said, her sudden appearance catching Forbidden Illusion off guard as she appeared in front of him in a blur of motion.

Lust slashed her katana, but it cut through nothing but an illusion of Forbidden Illusion. She saw the real Forbidden Illusion standing further away, already firing another volley of void bullets in her direction.

"You're going to regret the decisions you made, Lust," Forbidden Illusion warned, and as he spoke, he began preparing his spatial retreat, ready to alert the others to Lust's betrayal.

Lust's eyes widened as she realized the importance of the situation; she had to stop Illusion before he had the chance to escape. She held out her katana and used "Extenslde." The blade of her weapon began to extend, powered by her void energy. Lust pointed the expanding katana at Illusion, aiming to impale him with its enlarged blade.

Lust realized she was about to impale an illusion once again and quickly canceled "Extenslde." Instead, she focused on sensing the unique void energy coming from the real Forbidden Illusion. Instead, she slashed her katana, releasing arcs of sharp void energy that sliced through the air, homing in on him.

Just as Forbidden Illusion was about to activate his spatial retreat, he was forced to dodge the incoming arcs of void energy. What he didn't realize it was a distraction Lust had planned. As he focused on dodging the attacks, Lust silently approached him from behind.

Before Illusion could react, Lust slashed with her katana, cleanly severing his arm. His facade of a human body weakened, and the dismembered arm dropped to the floor. In its place, where his arm used to be, was his ethereal phantom body's arm, shinning with void energy.

Lust tried to continue her attack, but Illusion s countered, reacting quickly despite his injury. He fired a barrage of void bullets at her, the dark projectiles hiting their target.

After being struck by each of the void bullets, Lust staggered back. Trying to create some distance, she moved to retreat but suddenly found herself tangled in Illusion's Mana threads. The strings wrapped around her tightly, restricting her movements and binding her in place.

"Farewell, Lust," Forbidden Illusion said as he walked up to her, pointing his finger gun directly at her head.

Just as he was about to shoot, Forbidden Illusion was suddenly struck by a large sphere of howling winds, the force sending him flying to a nearby table.

"Looks like you need some help," Eve sighed, stepping forward to cut through the mana threads tangling Lust. The threads dissolving into the air.

"Ehh, I was supposed to be the one protecting you, princess," Lust said with a smirk, a sign of relief evident on her face.

Illusion got up and saw both Lust and Eve standing together. He considered using his Forbidden Attribute: Domain of Illusion, but realized that even his most powerful technique wouldn't guarantee victory. Lust had a similar technique, and Eve could tap into her own attribute. He knew that his best choice was to escape for now.

Without wasting another second, Forbidden Illusion used his powers. The hallway around them warped and twisted, transforming into the eerie landscape of the void dimension. Shadows flickered as countless other Forbidden appeared, their forms coming forth from the darkness to surround Lust and Eve.

"Ohh? Home sweet home," Lust smirked, looking around at the familiar void dimension. "Hey, Eve, it looks like he's planning to escape and this is just a distraction. I'm going to head back to the WWP headquarters and destroy the portal to buy you some more time." With that, Lust began to use her spatial retreat.

"Just be careful, Forbidden. I'll be fine here," Eve said, sensing Illusion's energy gradually fading as he prepared to escape.

"And there, it looks like Illusion is gone. Now, I'd better make my move," Lust remarked as she teleported directly to the labyrinth of the WWP headquarters, heading straight for the portal.

Eve sighed as the illusion of the void dimension faded and Lust disappeared. She was left alone in the ordinary hallway.

Lust teleported just outside the portal room, she knew time was of the essence. She had to act quickly before Illusion could alert the others to her betrayal.

Taking a deep breath, Lust entered the room with a nonchalant demeanor, trying to appear as normal as possible. Inside, she saw Forbidden Power and Energy, alongside Edward, working on the portal.

"Hey guys, do you need help with anything?" Lust asked casually, though she was already plotting her next move. She knew that Forbidden Energy had to be taken out first, given his ability to control mana.

"There you are, Lust. Where the hell have you been?" Power asked.

"You know, just getting some chores done for Wrath," Lust replied with a smile, trying to maintain a casual demeanor.

"Then come over here, I need some help with this stuff," Power called out to her.

"One second," Lust said with a smirk, her eyes narrowing as she approached Forbidden Energy observing his movements and preparing herself to take him out.

"You really think you're clever, don't you?" Energy said.

Lust's eyes widened in surprise, and before she could react, she was struck in the shoulder, sending her flying into the nearby stone wall. The impact left a significant dent in the solid wall, though Lust managed to brace herself against the force of the blow.

"You can get out of here, Edward. We'll deal with this," Power said firmly. Without question, Edward nodded and exited the room, leaving Energy and Power alone to confront Lust.

Lust stood up, she couldn't do anything but smirk. "Ehh, Illusion was that quick, huh?" She unsheathed her katana, the blade glinting in the room's dim light. "Well, it's going to take more than you two to take me down." As she spoke, Lust's void energy began to swirl around her.

"You know, Lust, I've always wanted this opportunity to face you in a fight to the death," Power grinned, his footsteps deliberately slow as he closed the distance between them.

"We have no use for traitors of the void," Energy said. "You made a big mistake coming here, Lust." He adjusted his stance, readying himself to join Power in the battle against her.

Lust smirked, her right eye glowing with a faint pink hue.

"Bring it on..."
