Chapter 68 - Chapter Sixty Eight: Professor Juno's delivery

It was Thursday, the day Vulcan and Vaos were to deliver Copy to Professor Juno. Vulcan woke up early, he rubbed his eyes and sat up, noticing that Vaos was already fully prepared. Vulcan let out a sigh, knowing the day ahead would be challenging. They just needed to find Copy. Vulcan got up and began to get ready, preparing for the long day ahead.

Once Vulcan was ready, he turned to Vaos and asked, "Should you really leave Eve alone? They clearly know where we are now, and she might do something stupid."

Vaos began to think, considering Vulcan's words. "I know, but Eve can handle herself. She's got a good head on her shoulders. We can't let our worries about her distract us from our mission. We need to find Copy and make this delivery to Professor Juno. Let's trust Eve to stay out of trouble for now."

Vulcan nodded, though concerned. "Alright, let's get going then. The sooner we find Copy, the sooner we can get this over with."

"Though I find it strange, why they haven't attacked us yet," Vaos said.

Vulcan nodded, "Yeah, it's like they're waiting for that portal, or maybe they're planning something bigger. We need to stay on guard."

Vaos sighed, "Agreed. Let's find Copy quickly and get to Professor Juno before anything happens."

With that, the two left the room, but Vaos told Vulcan to go on ahead as he walked back inside the room. Vulcan nodded and headed outside.

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you sensed my energy," Forbidden Lust remarked. "And before you ask, don't worry. I'll keep a watchful eye over this princess," she smirked, sitting down on the couch.

"Lust," Vaos's voice was low as he addressed the Forbidden sitting casually on the couch. "If you dare lay a finger on her, if you so much as breathe in her direction with ill intent, know this, I'll hunt you down. No matter where you hide, no matter how long it takes, I'll track you to the ends of this world and that of the void dimension, and I'll make you pay for any harm that happens to her."

"What's with you?" Forbidden Lust's tone was mockingly innocent as she pouted. "You're acting as if I'm about to kill her or something! Besides, it wouldn't do me any favors to harm one of my allies."

"Furthermore, if you're here and the other Forbidden know we're here, do they also know that you're working with us?" Vaos asked.

Forbidden Lust giggled softly. "You worry too much. Let's just say I have my ways of keeping secrets."

"That seems awfully suspicious," Vaos remarked. "Well, I don't have time to waste here. Just make sure she's safe," he added before exiting the room.

"Will do, Commander 'Chaos'," Lust replied with a smirk as Vaos exited the room.

Vaos stepped outside the hotel and saw Vulcan standing with Copy. Fortunately, they didn't have to go searching for him; he was already there.

After awkwardly greeting each other, Vulcan and Vaos told Copy to accompany them as they had to walk just outside the city to the nearby forest. Copy followed nonchalantly, primarily concerned with his own safety from Professor Juno. Although he appeared ignorant of Juno's significance, he was aware of her, particularly knowing she is the daughter of Rintaro and Dorothy.

Just with that fact, Copy had to be on guard with her. Rintaro and Dorothy were known for being the strongest during the void war, making Juno a cause for concern. The only piece of the puzzle missing for him was her Ornament, a crucial detail that he needed to know and he intended by any means necessary to find out.

As they exited the city, the forest of Legis wasn't that far in the distance, its dense vegetation hiding secrets within. Vulcan was nervous. However, Vaos remained composed. He knew he was more than a match for Copy if he dared to make a move.

Eventually, they arrived at the coordinates given by Professor Juno, the designated spot appearing desolate and devoid of any activity. "Hmm, it seems quite empty here," Copy said with a nonchalant shrug.

Without warning, Alvin appeared in front of them, putting away his teleportation device in his pocket. "Just on time. Well, we can finish this task quickly then," he remarked, his tone brisk and businesslike.

"I don't think so, you will fall down here, foul creature," a mysterious voice declared ominously.

"Uh-oh, I know that voice..." Copy sighed nonchalantly.

Suddenly, The White Crusader leaped forward, his sword slashing through the air. Copy's instincts kicked in just in time, allowing him to narrowly evade the blade. As he dodged, he felt a surge of raw power coming from the White Crusaders assailant. Reacting quickly, Copy instinctively raised his butterfly knives, intercepting a scimitar swung at him from an unexpected angle.

"You were right, White Crusader, these monsters are quite attentive," Brian said casually as she delivered a swift kick, sending Copy tumbling backward.

"White Crusader, what are you doing here?" Vaos asked, surprised by his unexpected presence.

"We should be asking that, Vaos, why are you assisting this monster?" Brian said as she prepared to confront Copy.

"Allow me to explain the situation, Aurora Brian," Alvin stepped forward, his tone calm.

After thoroughly and carefully explaining the situation, he brought clarity to the tense atmosphere. He was hopeful that this situation would be quickly resolved, allowing them to proceed with his mission of delivering Copy to Professor Juno without further delay.

"The rabbit is once again overstepping her bounds. I won't tolerate it. That creature will meet its end here and now," The White Crusader declared with resolve.

"The White Crusader is correct. A creature like this, likely responsible for the deaths of innocents during the void war, cannot be allowed to leave," Brian said, standing firmly beside The White Crusader.

"This is quite the pickle, isn't it?" Copy sighed nonchalantly. Despite his casual tone, he was already calculating his escape plan.

"Wait, White Crusader, please, you have to let him go," Vulcan said as he stepped forward. "Besides, can't you keep a close eye on him if he goes with the Professor? I need his help to recover Mary."

"Mary Wildflower, or rather, 'Forbidden Dream' now," The White Crusader replied. "Her transformation is unfortunate. Perhaps there is a way to help her, but it certainly won't come from that creature."

"Well, we won't know until he tells us," Vulcan argued.

"There's another possibility that he might slip from the rabbit's grip and I won't risk that," The White Crusader said, stepping forward. However, Vulcan positioned himself in front of Copy, a protective stance.

Copy's smirked as he taunted Vulcan. "Hey now, risking your life for someone who poisoned you? You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you? But hey, if you're feeling generous, I won't stop you."

Vulcan's tone was firm as he warned. "If you don't tell me how to save Mary, then I'll help him to kill you."

Copy said as he shrugged, his gaze meeting Vulcan's. "Now, now, now... What do you think I am, human? I'll stay true to my promise."

"What foolishness," The White Crusader said, shaking his head. "Very well, Brian, you deal with the boy. I'll take care of the monster myself." He readied his sword, prepared to face Copy.

"Understood, White Crusader," Brian acknowledged, her eyes shifting to Vulcan.

"Hold up!" Vaos shouted, "we shouldn't be fighting each other, not when all of the Forbidden are at the WWP building." He attempted to diffuse the escalating conflict before it spiraled out of control.

"As I promised, I'll tell you how to save your friend," Copy whispered to Vulcan, his voice barely audible, "but first I need to get out of here." He silently signaled towards Alvin to be teleported away.

With a deep breath, Alvin grabbed his teleportation device. He held Copy's shoulder, and activated the device, and they vanished from the forest.

The White Crusader sheathed his sword, the tension in his stance easing as the confrontation reached its end. Beside him, Brian mirrored his actions. "There's no point in fighting anymore," The White Crusader stated firmly. "But know this, Vulcan, Vaos. If you dare stand in my way once more, I'll cut you down," he warned.

Before Vulcan and Vaos could say anything, The White Crusader and Brian walked away. Leaving Vulcan and Vaos behind at the forest.

"I'll have to call Professor Juno so Copy can tell me how to save Mary," Vulcan sighed.

"Hold off on that for now and let's head back to the city," Vaos suggested. "We can deal with contacting Professor Juno once we're back."

Vulcan and Vaos turned and began to walk back to Legis.

Alvin and Copy teleported in Professor Juno's lab, where she sat behind her desk, her gaze shifting from Alvin to Copy as they appeared before her.

"You must be the daughter of Rintaro and Dorothy, Little Professor Juno..."
