Edward observed through the live feed of his spy drone, an annoyed look on his face as he observed the battle between Metod and the group. He sighed as he saw them gaining the upper hand. However, he knew that he couldn't attend to the matter personally knowing that his immediate focus should remain on advancing his work with the portal.
Edward sighed at the thought of delivering the news to Alexander about Metod's failure in eliminating the group. He knew Alexander would be displeased but found himself more upset by the loss of one of his valuable robots. The annoyance lingered, overshadowing the inevitable conversation with his partner.
Taking a short break from his work on the portal, Edward stood up and made the decision to inform Alexander about Metod's failure. As he walked towards Alexander's location. In the dimly lit chamber within the labyrinth, Alexander found himself in the shadows, convinced that he could feel the presence of the Forbidden that lurked in the darkness. The room became a haven for him his place of respite where the veil between reality and the unseen was thin.
In the dimly lit room, Edward cautiously approached Alexander, breaking the silence that was in the labyrinth. "Alexander, can we speak for a moment? It won't take long," Edward requested.
Alexander slowly opened his eyes, the dim light of the room reflecting in his piercing gaze as he looked at Edward. He sighed, an annoyed tone in his voice, "What is it, Edward? I'm very busy right now."
Edward's voice echoed in the dimly lit room, a note of frustration in his words, "Busy..? What do you mean? You're just sitting down. Anyways, I wanted to let you know that Metod was destroyed. In other words, it failed to eliminate the targets, but my spy drones are still on their tail."
"Destroyed, hmm? How unfortunate. I understand, though. One against six is an unfair fight, isn't it?" Alexander closed his eyes again, seemingly unfazed by the news, his mind focused on the Forbidden lurking in the shadows.
"You seem rather calm about this. I was expecting you to go into a tantrum, but you know I lost a robot because of you. I'm expecting you to at least return the materials I need to make another one." Edward sighed, expressing his frustration at the loss of Metod.
"I usually would be, but you see, Edward, I believe we'll have a few more allies that'll help us stop them," Alexander stated calmly, his eyes remaining closed.
"I really wish you would've told me sooner, so I didn't have to lose Metod," Edward sighed. "More importantly, who are these allies?"
"You'll find out in due time, Edward," Alexander said with a mysterious smile,as his eyes held a faint mysterious glow.
"Hmph, you still owe me one robot," Edward remarked before turning away and walking off, his footsteps echoing down the dimly lit corridors.
As Edward left the dimly lit room, the air filled with the echoes of his footsteps, he found himself immersed in his thoughts again. Slowly, like ethereal shadows, the Forbidden began to manifest in the room, their ominous presence keeping him company in the darkness.
"I'm assuming all of you heard that, right?" Alexander seemingly talked to himself.
"Yes, indeed. It seems our enemies are formidable. Although, you could say the robot was pathetic and didn't stance a chance," a voice murmured from the corner of the room.
"I must know, when do all of you intend to arrive?" Alexander asked.
"Once the conditions align, Alexander. Our dimension is far from your planet, and, moreover, we must assume your human form. It's impractical for us to manifest in our shadow forms directly," the voice responded.
"I see. Well, in the meantime, I'll do whatever is in my power to stop those six. However, isn't one of them carrying that blade?"
"In due time, their wills shall crumble, and their loyalty will belong solely to the Forbidden. Just a little more time, and you'll have another powerful ally at your disposal," the voice ominously said.
"I just hope they'll be strong enough to stop them so I can have the portal ready by then..." Alexander said.
"Don't worry about that, Alexander. It looks like their attribute will be a strong one. The power they bring might just be enough to stop those five you're dealing with. You'll have all the time you need to prepare our portal by then," the voice reassured with a subtle confidence.
"That reminds me," the mysterious voice said, "a traitor has made a vessel out of one of them."
"Traitor? What do you mean by making a vessel out of one of them?"
"You see, once a Forbidden is near death, we have an ability that allows us to avoid it by transferring all of our power to a random living being. Although we can use this ability at will as well, that's what Forbidden Blood did, the traitor," the voice replied.
"Is this Forbidden Blood going to be a problem that gets in our way?" Alexander asked
"Not at all, you see when we do that, make a vessel out of someone. Our influence remains dormant, until either the vessel's demise or their willful consent. In the case of Forbidden Blood, it appears they haven't even made contact with its vessel at all," the voice explained.
"I see, hopefully it remains that way; we don't need any surprises," Alexander sighed.
"Indeed, surprises can be quite inconvenient. Rest assured, Forbidden Blood seems to not have made contact with his vessel and I don't expect contact to be made anytime soon..."
"Hmm, it seems there's not much else to discuss for now. I'll take this time to ready myself for your arrival, Forbidden Power, Lust, Wrath." Alexander bowed his head, a sense of anticipation in his actions.
"Very well, be aware that our presence will soon be felt throughout your planet once again," The voice said ominously.
"Until then... As for those five, I suppose I'll allow them to walk freely for now. They better enjoy this brief moment of peace, as it won't last for long..." Alexander whispered to himself.
Edward's spy drones meticulously tracked their every move, creating a digital trail and capturing every moment they spent in Golden Amaranth. The drones, equipped with advanced sensors, ensuring no detail would be left out.
Edward sighed, a weighty realization settling on his shoulders. "I better keep a close watch on Alexander. Given the developing situation now, if I don't proceed with caution, he could be a bigger problem in the future."
"More importantly I better start working on the portal again..."
The ominous presence of the demon's skull on top of the portal, its eye holes gradually glowing with an eerie intensity. The countdown to Eve's arrival to Legis grew shorter with each passing second.
