"I cannot ignore this matter now that I've come across it. Besides, it's already a punishable offense to construct buildings in the forest without permission," Hindson declared, viewing Clare as a brainwashed victim in need of rescue.
Clare and Serila were increasingly baffled by Hindson's words and intentions.
They didn't care to understand his ramblings; their only thought was to leave quickly and report back to Alan.
"We really need to go now!" Clare insisted.
Hindson blocked their path, and Serila sensed his strength.
If he intended to stop them, they wouldn't be able to get past easily.
"What exactly do you want to do?" the girls demanded, realizing the impending crisis.
"I want to protect you. I'm very sorry for the intrusion, and I will apologize properly later," Hindson replied, signaling his men to forcibly detain Serila and Clare.
Clare, feigning fierceness, shielded Serila and clenched the ring grass in her hand.
