Flashback----------------------------------------

My life has always been a little different, I never met my parents, the owner of the orphanage who found me said that I appeared on her doorstep, in the middle of a summer storm. Shortly after, a very depressing couple adopted me.

They weren't conventional at all, but that's okay, I wasn't either =, or rather I'm not. The person I called mother was called Nicolle, she was a lawyer, and her father was called Jacob and he was a detective. They never stopped at home, and when they did, they didn't say anything, I never lacked for anything, quite the contrary, I had everything I wanted, but when it came to affection, love and parental things, they were terrible, but I wasn't that social either.

One day when I was already a teenager my father took me to his work, he said that people weren't always bad because they did things that people considered wrong, and that was what he liked about me.

I immediately thought he was going to give me a moral lesson, but it was totally wrong, I sneakily followed him down a street where there was a group, it looked like some kind of gang, they were talking to some suits, suddenly the gang shoots at the suits and the security guards, they took the suitcases and fled, a while later following them, we arrived at a supermarket where they bought huge bags of food. When we arrived at their house, my father asked us to take a good look at where he would take it, it was a hospital for children with cancer.

Jacob: Do you understand what happened Luis?

Luis: More or less....

Jacob: They are a gang, they protect this community that is forgotten by the government, remember those suits? They wanted to buy this land to build an elite car factory.

Luís: (...)

Jacob: who is wrong? the suits for trying to buy those people with money? or the gang that committed murder on them?

Luis: The gang?

Jacob: Before the law, yes, but what about suits? If the gang had accepted the money without reacting, what would these children look like? Abandoned to die? And in this community, where would these people be? On the street of misery? The one with the scarf tied around his neck is the leader and his daughter is one of those.

Luis: And what are you going to do dad?

Jacob: Let's pretend we haven't seen each other at all.

Luis: But what about the case?

Jacob: And now let's ask your mother for help.

My mother had few words, but in front of the judge or clients she changed. She intimidated the corrupt people who tried to buy those residents, so they dropped the complaint.

It was then that I discovered that I had to put on a mask to adapt to society. That's why I said that my adolescence was rebellious, I tried to do what I thought was right, the boardroom and redemption were my favorite places where I wrote down what I discovered from my classmates and teachers and also my director, who hid in the laboratory with your lover.

But that's how I am, I do what I think is right and what is not what is conventional by law, but I'm not like my ''parents''

Director: Mr. Luis, go to the detention room and make a list of the things you did wrong today.

Luis: But, director, saving people from bullying is not wrong.

Director: But buying your colleagues with LSD pills is not right.

Luis: Alright, I'm going.

(I'll unmask you, Director, don't worry.)

-Director Jerry, I'm pregnant.

Director: WHAT? HOW ARE YOU PREGNANT? YOU DIDN'T TAKE THE PILL

-What do you mean pill? You should have used a condom. And now, what are we going to do? I'm only 17 years old.

Director: Us? There is no us. You were walking around in a skirt, teasing me. It was not my fault.

-And what am I going to do with this son now? I will not abort.

Director: Yes, you will. This will tarnish my reputation as director of the year.

-Let me go, I'm not going to abort.

Director: Won't you? Then I'll take it from you myself.

-NO, PLEASE, RELEASE ME. I WON'T TELL ANYONE ANYTHING....NOOO..

Luis: Ah, so this is where the mouse eats the cheese.

Director: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, BOY? I LOCKED YOU IN THE ROOM.

Luis: Well, let's say the lock wasn't enough, and well, it wasn't that quiet, right?

Director: And you're going to keep quiet, aren't you? I freed you from the police, and I can give you back the pills if you don't say anything.

Luis: No, thank you. I prefer to do the "right" thing.

Director: Where did you find that stylus, boy? They are prohibited.

Luis: Ah, this one is a collection. It doesn't make much noise, okay? I have a headache.

-DON'T DO THAT, BOY... NOOOO... JERRYY.

Luis: Okay, now just get rid of it and leave you safe.

-Thank you, but what now? I can't take care of this child alone... my parents... They won't accept it, and this body, what are we going to do?

Luis: I won't take care of you or that child, but don't worry. In jail, you won't have to worry. You really didn't want that, did you, Mary?

Mary: Hmm? Chain? How do you know my name? Hey...

"Here at the New Jersey Regional School, we have a cold-blooded murder of a 17-year-old teenager, in which she cruelly kills the acclaimed Principal Jerry with 10 punctures with a box cutter. And we have with us the witness to the crime, another teenager who witnessed the scene."

Luis is feeling very confused and disturbed after committing a crime. He is in his room, alone, feeling lost and aimless. His father, an older and wiser man, notices Luis' distress and enters the room to talk to him.

The father sits next to Luis on the bed and puts his hand on his son's shoulder, looking into his eyes with affection. He tells Luis that he has made mistakes in his own life and that he knows how difficult it is to deal with feelings he doesn't understand. But he also tells Luis that it's not what we do wrong that defines who we are, but rather how we deal with our mistakes and how we seek to do good in the world.

Luis feels great emotion when he hears his father's words. His father hugs him tightly and tells him he loves him unconditionally, regardless of his mistakes or failures. This moment of affection and understanding between father and son is one of the few moments of peace and comfort that Luis finds in his tumultuous life.

He believed he was doing what was right at the time, but soon realized he had made the wrong decision.

Mary was a classmate of Luis. She was a "pick me girl" who maintained relationships with the principal so as not to be expelled for her poor grades. Luis noticed that she was suffering from this and tried to help her. However, her good intention ended up leading him to commit murder.

After realizing the mistake he had made, Luis did not turn himself in to the police. He saw that Mary's case was closed and that she was pregnant and locked up in a juvenile facility. Luis ended up graduating from the police academy and met Mary again after she got out of prison.

Luis made it clear that they would not be a couple, but he still helped Mary financially. He knew he couldn't erase the past, but he wanted to do what he could to help Mary have a better life.

Mary was afraid of Luis at first, especially after seeing a person's murder with her own eyes. However, over time, she realized that Luis had a complex personality but also had a kind heart. She felt like she could trust him, especially because Luis was always willing to help her, even when she was in jail.

As time passed, Mary and Luis became close friends. Although Mary was still afraid of what Luis might be capable of doing, she also knew that he wouldn't hurt her. They built a relationship of mutual trust, and Luis became a kind of protector for Mary, always willing to help her in times of need.

I always had difficulty relating to people due to my antisocial personality disorder, I felt misunderstood and often isolated. Therefore, he adopted a rebellious and distant stance, wearing a mask to prevent people from judging him or bothering him about his condition.

Reunion with Mary

Luis and Mary decided to meet at a cozy cafe in Newark, New Jersey. When Mary arrived, she saw Luis sitting at a table, drinking a coffee and looking at the window. She approached him with a mix of emotions, not sure how to feel after so many years of not seeing him.

"Hi, Luis," Mary said, sitting across from him. "How much time!"

"Hi, Mary," Luis replied, looking a little tense. "Yes, it's been a long time indeed."

"So? How has life been as a police officer?" asked Mary, trying to break the ice.

"It's been pretty hectic," Luis said, giving a weak smile. "But I'm dealing with it."

Mary could feel the tension in the air and decided to get straight to the point. "I'm sorry about what happened, Luis. I never wanted you to get involved in all of this."

Luis looked at her for a moment, before responding. "I know, Mary. I did what I thought was right at the time. But I realize it was wrong and I can't change the past."

"I'm afraid, Luis. I'm afraid of what could happen to me and my son. I don't know who to turn to." Mary said, with tears in her eyes.

"Don't worry, Mary. I'm here for you. I always have been. What do you need?" Luis said, placing his hand on her shoulder.

Mary let out a sigh of relief. "I need help getting out of town, Luis. I can't live in fear anymore."

Luis nodded. "I will help you. I will provide everything necessary for you and your son to leave safely."

Mary hugged him again. "Thank you, Luis. You don't know how much this means to me."

"No need to thank me, Mary. I'll always be here for you." Luis said, smiling gently.

The two sat down to talk more and plan their next steps, as their friendship grew even stronger.

Luis and Mary moved to Boston together, but they didn't live together. They each had their own apartment and led separate lives, but they still kept in touch and saw each other from time to time. Despite not being a couple, they had a strong friendship that had lasted for years since their school days in New Jersey. Luis continued working as a police officer, while Mary dedicated herself to taking care of her teenage son and studying to get a stable job. Both recognized each other's importance in their lives and were always willing to help when needed.

February 13, 1985, Luis' apartment.

Luis felt a mix of emotions as he picked up his keys and prepared to leave the house. The tension of Helen's case still lingered in his mind, as did the guilt over his past and the anxiety about the future. He wondered if he was ready to handle such a complex case.

As he walked towards Paul's office, Luis tried to calm his thoughts and focus on his work. However, Helen's case affected him in a different way, making him feel more vulnerable.

Upon arriving at the office, Luis was greeted by Paul, who greeted him with a firm handshake. The two sat at the conference table and began to discuss the case. Paul explained the details and presented the evidence, while Luis listened intently, making notes in his notebook.
