Chapter 4 - Honest people are not easy to bully.

Facing the boss's cold and ruthless words, "You've been fired!"

Ye Fei was not surprised. It was something he had expected, and there was no need for many words.

"Give me back my deposit!" Ye Fei said firmly.

His purpose in coming back was not for work. With his X-ray vision, he knew that a bright future awaited him. This small company could no longer accommodate him.

The boss asked in confusion, "You still want the deposit? I haven't even looked into the losses caused by your absenteeism! Do you know how much goods I lost because of you and how many customers were disappointed? I've been lenient by not asking you to compensate me, and yet you still dare to ask for the deposit! What a joke!"

Ye Fei's face darkened. His family is not rich; his parents had been laid off early and relied on odd jobs to make ends meet. After graduating from high school, he had resolutely given up the opportunity to go to college and started working.

The two thousand yuan was the hard-earned money his father had earned at the construction site, but now it was being extorted.

"Mr. Ma, you've gone too far!" Ye Fei slammed the table.

"I'll tell you, I just got out of the detention center. If you don't give me the money today, I'll take you down, and I won't mind going in again!" Ye Fei pointed at the boss, saying fiercely.

In the office of the logistics company, there were only a few female employees answering calls and the group of people who had been drinking with him that day. Ye Fei glanced around and found no familiar faces; they should all be out for deliveries. He cursed without reservation, thinking that if he didn't get the money back, he really wanted to beat this guy up hard!

Mr. Ma had never imagined that this usually gentle and refined young man could harbor such a violent side. Especially the words he uttered after coming out of detention filled Mr. Ma with terror!

Detention, it's a place that people sneer at. Mentioning it might prompt someone to disdainfully exclaim, "What kind of people are in there!" However, when a person walks out of detention and stands in front of you, the sudden shock makes it impossible to remain calm.

Especially the scar on Ye Fei's face. It usually looked so faint that it was almost invisible, but in his moment of anger, the scar suddenly became distinct. His ordinarily ordinary face now appeared fierce and terrifying in Mr. Ma's eyes, sending shivers down his spine!

"He was detained?" "What, he beat someone until they were covered in blood?" "And even bit the other person's ear?" "Okay, stop talking, I got it!" The boss hurriedly hung up the phone.

He called the finance office and instructed, "Return Ye Fei's deposit and let him leave!" After giving the instructions, the boss thought with lingering fear: What bad luck, how did I end up with such a jinx? It's a pity about that thousand yuan deposit.

The boss was a notorious miser. The thousand yuan was a deposit required from every courier, but he had never returned it. He never expected to run into such a jinx this time, which made him break out in a cold sweat.

Thinking of Ye Fei's red eyes just now, the boss felt restless. It wasn't until the front desk informed him that Ye Fei had left with the money that he finally breathed a sigh of relief and sat down.

Standing outside the gate, Ye Fei looked back at the "Wan Tong Logistics" sign on the storefront and sneered, "I will come back sooner or later! How dare this Mr. Ma fire me without reason and plan to extort my parents' hard-earned money! Let's wait and see, I won't let your company go under, my name is Ye Fei!"

Feeling the thousand yuan in his pocket, Ye Fei felt a warmth inside. This money was his parents' hard-earned money. Although it didn't amount to much now that he had X-ray vision, Ye Fei would never spend his parents' hard-earned money in vain.

Coming from an ordinary family, he cherished every penny. He had gone out to drink that day because his parents had urged him to maintain good relations with his colleagues before leaving, otherwise, this person who rarely drank would not have gone to the restaurant to eat and drink.

Pondering, Ye Fei wondered if he had drunk too much and said something he shouldn't have, which led to someone hitting him with a bottle. He quickly dismissed this reason because he felt that even if he had said something offensive, it wouldn't have warranted such a severe blow.

Forget it, he thought, I'll figure out the truth sooner or later. For now, let's go buy a lottery ticket!

With his X-ray vision, Ye Fei had been thinking about how to make money during his time in the detention center. He had considered many ways and ultimately decided to use the safest method—buying lottery tickets, especially scratch cards.

Entering the welfare lottery center, Ye Fei was as excited as if he were walking into a bank to withdraw money, and he walked in briskly.

The lottery station was large, with two long tables where some people were scratching their lottery tickets, and a few others were studying the winning numbers for the Double Colour Ball on the wall.

A middle-aged woman, without even lifting her head, asked, "What are you buying? Powerball or 3D?"

Ye Fei, pretending to be calm, replied, "Do you have scratch cards?"

The woman pointed to the various types of lottery tickets on the wall and said, "Take a look and choose which one you want to buy. We have five yuan, ten yuan, and twenty yuan ones."

After looking at the various prize redemption rules for a while and making sure he understood, Ye Fei asked, "Can I take out a few five yuan ones to choose from?"

The woman nodded, took out a stack of five yuan lottery tickets, and placed them on the table, saying, "These are all five yuan each! Take your time choosing!"

Ye Fei flipped through them one by one. This one won twenty-five yuan, this one won fifteen yuan, this one won two hundred yuan, and surprisingly, this one won one thousand! Any winning ticket, even if it was just fifteen yuan, was picked out by Ye Fei. He closed his right eye and kept picking, but there were only two tickets with prizes over two hundred yuan. The rest were either fifteen yuan or twenty yuan. Before Ye Fei could find the five thousand yuan jackpot, the time for his ability ran out, and his left eye returned to normal.

Ye Fei opened his right eye, rubbed his weary left eye, and thought, "It would be great if both my eyes could see through at the same time, so I wouldn't have to feel like a one-eyed pirate."

He painfully slapped his head, which made him grimace. His head still wasn't quite clear; he really was unlucky.

"Have you finished choosing?" the woman asked impatiently.

"Yeah, yeah! These are the ones!" Ye Fei replied.

The woman counted and said, "Twenty in total, one hundred yuan!"

Ye Fei took out one hundred yuan from his pocket, handed it to the shopkeeper, and then sat down on a bench with the lottery tickets. He picked up a pencil from the table, scratched off one ticket, and indeed, it won fifteen yuan.

After confirming that there were no surprises, Ye Fei's speed increased. He scratched off one after another as if the pencil were dancing in his hand. He didn't even notice the passing of time; it felt like in just a moment, all the scratch cards had been revealed.

Looking at the lottery tickets in his hand, Ye Fei's heart was pounding.

This excitement was completely different from when he gained his ability and also different from the feeling of seeing the gold bars just now. Those were all distant dreams, but now, the money was finally about to come into his hands, and his life was going to change completely.

One ticket was worth one thousand yuan, one was worth eight hundred yuan, one was worth two hundred yuan, six were worth twenty-five yuan, and the remaining eleven were all worth fifteen yuan.

Two thousand three hundred and fifteen yuan, earned with just one hundred yuan in less than ten minutes.

Ye Fei's hands trembled as he thought about how he had worked hard for a whole month last month to earn only fifteen hundred yuan. And now, in less than ten minutes, he earned more than a month's worth. It was truly unbelievable.

After five or six minutes, Ye Fei's emotions gradually calmed down. He hesitated for a moment, then took out one worth eight hundred yuan, one worth two hundred yuan, one worth one thousand yuan, and one worth twenty-five yuan, and walked away.

He put the remaining lottery tickets in his pocket. They were all money!

Ye Fei left the lottery station, walked several blocks, and finally found a step to sit down on. His heart was still pounding, as if he had just stolen something.
