I packed up my things, well Fallenhyde's stuff in a suitcase along with Joyle's dresses and necessities, and provided some changes to my outfit with a white shirt a black overcoat along some shorts for freer movement. It looked weird of course but I couldn't care much. Joyle fashioned a frilly red dress quite suiting her blue eyes. Any man would fall for this ball of cuteness but they'd have to face my wrath before even getting to her.
As we started our journey, I burnt the mansion to erase any traces of us living along with traces of my magic which I clouded with some perfume. A lot of perfume. Since ancient times for the wildest reasons, perfumes seemed to have a weird effect on environmental mana and energy resulting in their dispersion.
Then I planted a small Snapdragon flower in respect to my descendent Fallenhyde and so started my journey. I have realized two things by now by going through Fallenhyde's memories and also by evaluating his body. One, it was that this guy had absolutely no stamina, zero talent, and zero courage to fight against anything. The second thing was that this world had far undergone development and yet it had degraded to quite the level.
This world had technologically advanced itself by a lot and yet it had forgotten its old ways of controlling mana and energy. It had come to rely heavily upon technology while the old ways were starting to be forgotten resulting in a mass increase in monsters being uneradicated. They roam freely across the world while humans have gone into hiding in some places but at some places where the strong reign, the monsters dare not venture.
Well, first we will have to travel and regain the power I've lost while also teaching Joyle how to control her own. This is gonna be hard enough but for now, our first destination is supposed to be Entacron, the country of the overlord who once after my brother Roy was able to almost control the world by conquering everyone but apparently was betrayed and is currently on the search for the lord dead or alive but that wasn't my goal. My goal was to become king of those lands to gain access to the treasury of the kings.
Maybe if I'm lucky, I could regain some power and some of the artifacts I used in my previous life and if not, I'd have to purge out the rotten parts of the country to gain absolute control over it.
But before that, I'd have to reach the place first.
This map is heavily inaccurate considering it is really old but oh well my journey will give me enough time to train myself. As I and Joyle stuck to the road walking, I could feel that this was inefficient. Monsters were seemingly keeping a distance from us so I had no choice but to go and hunt them down. So, in the end, we strayed from the path and were in the forest.
Monsters now were actively attacking us. They varied from small birds with sharp beaks enough to cut through skin like it was butter-like cretinas to large feline creatures like Hazers. The Hazers were honestly irritating since they kept interrupting us so I caught a few cretinas and killed them. I fashioned their razor beaks into a single sword using some vines growing along the trees. The vines were also unusually sturdy and strong. I needed a hilt so I used a thin and long enough stone. I used another stone and blunted the hilt and voila I had a makeshift dagger to use.
The Hazers with their camouflage were still irritating but now they were easier to deal with. Joyle was enjoying her walk through the forest considering this forest had the immense smell of blood and yet the monsters seemed to ignore her and only attack me for some reason not that I was complaining or anything.
Joyle has been through a lot seemingly in her life even though she was just 13 so I just freely let her roam while being around her to defend her and yet she didn't need my defending so I could freely train.
By now I could shape my eon energy to some extent but I hadn't reached the level of free control so all I could do was coat my dagger with the energy.
As we kept walking while hunting monsters and Joyle kept making wreaths enough to cover the entire forest, a scream echoed through the forest. I was thinking of escaping away from the area since it'd be a drag to do anything about it but Joyle pulled at me and said "Mister, are you not gonna save the person? I can feel immense pain coming from that direction. It hurts, it hurts." And she fainted on the ground.
I took her head and placed it on my lap, her head was burning so I tried to circulate some of my energy through her body to heal her but it did wonders. Her body not just had the same void my descendants and I have been facing but she also had another energy.
It was seemingly violent at the foreign energy entering but then it allowed it to flow freely while also supplying its own mana. Oh right I need to elaborate mana for the reader, it's a simple form of energy that all life forms have. With or without their realization, mana is in a cyclic flow throughout nature and energies are just manifestations of such divine life forces.
The direct raw control of mana is heavily dangerous and forbidden which is why all living beings tend to use energies derived from mana sources instead.
Well back to part, Joyle seemed to have cooled down as circulation of the energy inside her was positive so I picked her up on my back and decided to go to whatever was screaming.
As I jumped over rocks and trees, it opened to a vast field with absolutely no trees facing the cliff of the edge along with a group of grim wolves surrounding a Zyon Tiger.
Grim wolves are known to travel in packs like normal wolves but a difference they have is that their wolves can secrete dangerous poison due to their habit of also chewing on the poisonous plants and bugs in the forests but what was shocking was that the Zyon tiger which was cornered was a full grown one and full grown tigers had the special ability to initiate teleportation not that they needed it considering their speed and power and yet here I was looking at a different sight.
As the wolves howled, the tiger broke appearance into a woman holding a baby in one of her arms and fire in another. She also had a horn and spikes from her back but the wolves showed no sign of retreat.
I conjured up the last ounce of my energy that I had cultivated to release my chain skill as I screamed "blood dragon" to complete the incantation, a huge dragon burst out from the ground made from pure blood and it charged the wolves snaping at their necks growing bigger as it did so and as the field was empty with the survivors being me, Joyle, the tiger and its child the dragon swayed away back into the summoning portal.
The tiger growled at me but too tired to do anything, it too fainted to the ground and I was stuck with more baggage.
