Chapter 19 - Vol1.Chap19 Levi

"Where, am I," Levi muttered, getting up from the ground his body surrounded in darkness, water-like ripples form with every step of his feet, navigating through the dark plain hints of blue popping up with every step, his eyes wandering through there was nothing to land on. "Felix?" he called out hoping that his brother would respond to his cry but there was nothing but silence.

The more he walked to more lost he felt his eyebrows furrowing in a mixture of sadness and concern, he didn't know where he was and he felt alone, all alone again.

The sound of dewdrops filled his ears the dark silence following close behind. Heavy breathing, footsteps, growling, he picked up all of this, his heart racing despite not knowing what it was or whether it was near or far. He started to pick up the pace, running as fast as he could the footsteps behind him getting faster still, he cried, tears running down his face from fear the feeling of death looming over him, the feeling of danger looming over him.

"Felix!" He cried out for his brother once more, a scared lost child in the dark, "Felix! Help!"

In the shadows, glowing red eyes cut through the darkness, its twisted game nearing its climax, the game of cat and mouse coming to its natural end, its hot breath tickling the back of his neck though the experience was far from pleasant, his future uncertain the gateway to life and death blurred into one door until his fate was decided.

Before he could get away its massive claws pinned him to the ground his jugular ripped from its confines as he tried to scream, his voice turning into nothing but a hushed gust of wind. Strings upon strings of muscle fibers ripped from the bones they held close so dearly, the very essence of the victim being unraveled in a twisted portrayal of violence and satisfaction. The once balanced and harmonized structure of life lay in ruins, unable to fight back as the beast had its way with him, each severed strand orchestrating an excruciating aria of pain.

A hushed silence fell over the horrific scene, the soft growling from the monster behind him, and the grunts of effort from chewing his bones were the only things that could be heard. The victim's muted screams turn into one of acceptance the excruciating pain turning into ones of needle pricks as his nerves were destroyed, soon numbness when it got to his spine. His eyes slowly closed, tears running down his eyes as his last thoughts remained on his brother, leaving behind a canvas of despair, the once black plain now painted in a prominent crimson hue, a masterpiece of one's demise.

"Brother!" Levi woke up in a cold sweat, surprised he could actually speak, his hands feeling at his throat to see if it was still intact.

With a sigh, he hung his head over his legs his hands running through his green hair which was illuminated by the sun shining through his window its rays hitting his bedsheets, and golden yellow eyes.

"What a relief," He muttered, his fingers clawing into the bedsheets that hid his legs his eyes welling with tears from the wave of happiness that crashed over him, "I'm home."

"You ok buddy?" Felix called out, his hands resting on the door frame as he peaked inside of his bedroom.

"Yeah, I'm fine," He muttered, getting out of bed, his body still shaking from that intense dream.

"Well, I'll be going to work again, I left money on the table to satisfy you for the week," He announced as he took his leave.

"A week? You're leaving for that long?" Levi inquired his eyebrows furrowing at his brother's sudden announcement.

"Yeah, I got something I need to take care of but don't worry haha, a week is hardly anything to worry about," Felix grinned, shutting the door completely behind him, leaving Levi alone with his thoughts in the deafening silence.

"He always does this," Levi muttered as he walked down the street of Alderfield, his hands in his pockets as his tattered clothing flowed in the wind, his gaze down to the floor in worry and sadness. "I hope whatever he's doing is the same."

The streets were busy at that time of day, his sulky gaze illuminated by the sun, people walking past him in a hurry, some even pushing past him due to his slow and steady pace. His gaze rose, looking at a store with a candy on its sign, he smiled thinking that a treat would help him dwell over his worry.

Upon entering the bell rang, his eyes lighting up with joy as he saw all the different candies to choose from.

"Let see," He muttered to himself as he gazed around the isle looking for the one that suited his fancy, his gaze falling on a red lolly, his eyes lightened with joy as he reached out for it, his hands touching ones with someone, he looked to see who it was and saw a girl with blonde hair cascading down her back a white Rococo dress covering her figure, her blue eyes staring into his yellow ones, her's soft and beautiful and his sharp and void of life. her fair soft pampered skin, a stark contrast to his rugged, coarse hands soon pulled away from each other, his mind finally noticing those who had accompanied her.

A boy who looked the same as her, close enough to be siblings, and a guard who stared and Levi with a foul expression before taking the lolly for her. He couldn't even be mad for the unforeseen event that just took place his heart was too busy racing from another emotion, his hands slowly reaching for his chest as he watched them leave, his mouth slightly agape.

"The princess, she's just as beautiful as ever," He muttered, his thoughts coming out loud in a quiet hush, unable to share the feelings in any other form.
