Chapter 17 - Vol1.Chap 17. My dear.

"Vampire sightings! Stay indoors at night!" People shouted on the streets as paper boys delivered the news, their hands held up high as they waved their rolled pieces of literature against the morning sun, the breeze carrying the heat of the day.

"Close your windows, stock up on garlic, vampires! Vampires!" The news would reach far and wide the paper soon stopping on the doorstep of a small cabin a bit far from the village the sun setting by the time it got there. Its wooden exterior was filled with moss and grim, windows soiled with dust on the outside its chimney clogged, not used in days. The hollow wooden doors slowly creaked open, yellow eyes peering from the darkness inside.

"Oh, the paper," He muttered to himself, his scrawny hands reaching out for the paper shaking lightly the more he reached out, his skinny fingers wrapping around the paper before pulling it in, shutting the door behind him.

"Vampires?" A scrawny lad looked at the paper once inside, his body dressed in tattered rags and green hair hidden by a brown hat, his fingers dug lightly into the pages trying to get a good enough grip to read, his yellow eyes scanning the page reaction quietly to it's contents.

"What's that about vampires?" A voice called from inside the cabin, Felix asked looking back into the living room where the boy stood.

"Apparently one was spotted and it murdered a group of people that went heading straight for Alderfield,"

The boy responded his face buried deeper into the paper as he spoke, his eyes reading more and more interested in what more of the story could possibly be.

Felix smiled to himself, as he wrote notes on the kitchen table, his eyes shut as he thought about it, mind swelling with pride.

"Alderfield?" he inquired, one of his eyes opening to look at the young lad his demeanor clearly not serious. "you mean the city I work at?"

The boy nodded, placing the paper on the table a look of concern on his face.

"Felix you can't go to work tonight," He muttered, concerned for the safety of his brother.

"Don't worry Levi I won't be going out tonight anyways," Felix smiled at his brother's caring frown. "Though, I need a few things at the shops, can you get them for me?"

"Ok,"

Levi walked through abandoned streets, the moon now raised high in the sky looking down at him, its dim blue light shining all over his brown cap and green hair, bulbs of garlic in his bag as he marched on.

"Everyone really took this lockdown thing seriously huh?" He muttered to himself as he walked along, the streets completely abandoned.

He walked into a nearby shop, buying all the stuff his brother wanted, a smile of relief on his face after not being attacked by any weird creatures on his way, on his way back however footsteps were heard behind him, and his heart raced on who or what it could actually be as the song of danger rung in his ear on repeat.

Slowly he picked up the pace though the footsteps would always match it, Levi started to run his feet digging into the ground below him with each step trying to boost himself away, though his attempts were futile, a hand reaching out to grab his shoulder, and just like that...

Everything went black.

"Oh you're back," Felix smiled at his return, opening the door for his younger brother, "How was it," His voice trailed off when he saw him in this state his eyes widening slightly in surprise at his brother's condition.

His body was battered so were his clothes, his eyes wide, skin covered in blood, and a face that looked like he was about to scream, he couldn't speak from shock just simply walking into the cabin without a word.

"I think I'll go to bed," he muttered, walking to his room quietly.

His brother too was speechless at the sight, a smile forming on his face as he watched his brother drop the bag and head to bed.

"Ok, sleep well Levi."

"Matthew? You've finally returned?" Eva muttered her voice filled with relief when she heard the door to her cabin open a primal growl was heard from the door's entrance, nothing like the soft and caring voice she was so used to hearing, she headed towards the cabin entrance despite not being able to see a thing, "W-who are you?"

A man walked into the cabin his eyes glowing with desire his body battered and torn, breathing heavily as he approached the woman, his primal gaze similar to that of an animal, sending shivers down her spine despite not being able to see it.

She stepped away from the door bumping into the table, using that she quickly felt around for something her hand grabbing hold of a vase before throwing it at the man her screams only filled with panic as he approached still, the vase broke on his head blood trickling from the wound but still, he persists.

"Stay away!" She shouted stumbling backward from the constant movement, her back against the wall as she cried raising her arm to block anything that he might do to her, her lips quivering in fear continuing to cry for help, though none would arrive.

His hand wrapped around her wrist though no matter how many times she tried to fight it she couldn't break free his grip was too strong for her.

"Let go of me!" she cried her voice filled with panic, tears flooding her eyes, she couldn't believe what was happening the tears running down her face as she closed her eyes bracing herself for what was to come. "Why are you doing this!"

Her voice was shattered with emotions, her sentence broken up between sobs as the man had his way with her his gaze all over her, his fingers making quick work of her blouse.

"Matthew, I'm so sorry, please forgive me,"
