Chapter 6 - Unspoken Ties

After boarding the car, I instructed the driver not to let Pho Quan drive.

He didn't insist and just sat next to me in the back seat.

We sat apart, a noticeable distance between us.

I asked in a low voice, "A Quan, are you mad at me?"

He slightly curved his lips and mockingly said, "As if I would dare."

Just three words were enough to make me feel a twinge of discomfort.

In the previous life, the plot controlled me, and my parents couldn't convince me, so they could only watch me marry Tong Tieu.

Bearing the blame, I used the family's assets to infuse blood into his company.

Due to Pho Quan's constant competition with Tong Tiey, snatching away his projects, I considered him an enemy.

For ten years in the past life, we rarely met.

I always spoke sarcastically, even using a normal face to talk to him wasn't possible.

"A Quân."

I sniffled, suddenly saying, "It's been two months since we last met, do you remember me?"

Pho Quan glanced at me without saying anything.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, I had to find something to say, "This time, you didn't bring gifts for me."

"Last time I brought one, you said my stuff was dirty and threw it away."

He spoke coldly, then turned his head and closed his eyes.

Clearly, it was a resistant action due to not wanting to talk to me.

The last time before Pho Quan returned, he brought me a whole box of pink pearls.

When he presented it, he gently said, "Use it for some fun, don't always stay with those inferior things."

Both the pearl and Pho Quan's words hurt Tong Tieu's pride.

So, to make Tong Tieu happy, I immediately smashed the box of pearls.

"I don't want your filthy things!"

...

Thinking about it, I despairingly closed my eyes.

In my heart, I silently cursed the original story for being so foolish.

Even if my brain arteries were clogged for ten years, I still couldn't write such a silly story.

Now, I could only shorten the distance between us bit by bit, getting closer to Pho Quan.

I leaned toward him, resting my chin on his shoulder, speaking softly, "Actually, Pho Quan, I have something to tell you..."

A warm breath, carrying a small breeze, stirred the strands of hair near his ear.

Pho Quan suddenly opened his eyes, raised his hand to grab my neck, and turned it to the side.

"Whatever role you and that Tong Tieu are playing today, I won't play along. Don't waste your effort."

He raised an eyebrow, pausing for a moment.

"Besides, if your body feels uncomfortable, don't create chaos."

When Pho Quan reproached me, his face was serious and cold.

But my keen eyes noticed that from his ears to his neck, everything was flushed.

I deliberately adjusted my sitting posture uncomfortably.

"Pho Quan."

I hesitated calling him, "You won't..."

"Stay still."

He lowered his eyes to hide the surging desire, his voice hoarse.

"You don't need to bother about my matters."
