Chapter 16 - Golden Flaming Lion

"Anyways, soul essences can be divided by categories such as tank, attack, and support. there are also sub categories to that, but I won't delve deep into that. As for what Tanks, attackers, and support do, I don't think I need to explain." Lieu Xia said writing down each category and subcategory on the chalkboard.

"Now, what I will teach you is how to increase your soul power to increase your rank. First, meditate every day and focus on generating and absorbing the natural elements around you. Preferably the element that suits you the most as that will give you an increase of speed." Lieu Xia wrote the steps to increasing your soul power and soul essence.

"Now, since soul essence is a power, it cannot be used indefinitely. If used too much or out of the user's control, the user can damage his Dantian. So make sure not to overexert yourself." Lieu Xia said write one final point.

"Now, if your Dantian is damaged, it can be healed with rest and soul power. However, the more severe the damage, the longer it will take to heal. Now, I'll open the floor to any questions you might have." Lieu Xia said. Many students raised their hands while Thomas and a few others didn't.

Lieu Xia pointed to one ensign and spoke.

"What should we do when we reach rank ten? As I've heard; when you reach rank ten, it becomes extremely hard to rank up." The ensign asked.

Lieu Xia nodded her head, and turned to the chalkboard.

"Yes, when you reach the 10th, 20th, 30th, etc. It becomes abnormally hard to rank up. This is because we need to push through our limits and somehow form a new bottle for the extra soul power. We have no clue how to do this if I'm being honest. There are four main ways that are used: training, working hard, pushing yourself to the brink of collapse even if it means harming your Dantian, and luck. If you are born with great talent and luck, then reaching rank 11 can be simple, while if you lack in both areas, you'll only stay at rank ten till you figure something out." Lieu Xia said, pointing each thing down in chalk.

Many ceruleans nodded their heads. Thomas yawned and lit another cigarette, bored out of his mind. Liang Jainwei, however, was taking down notes and absorbing the information. Lieu Xia pointed at another ensign and spoke.

"Are soul powers divided by elements as well?" The ensign asked. Lieu Xia shook her head and spoke.

"No, remember that soul power is just the water in the bottle that allows you to use your soul essence. Though some soul essence doesn't even have an element which is fine as well." Lieu Xia said. some ensign nodding their heads, understanding the information.

"Now, is there anything else you want to know?" Lieu Xia asked. nobody raised their hands, so lieu Xia put down her chalk, and eyes turned sharp.

"No questions? Then why are the fuck are you sitting here doing nothing? Go run around the outer courtyard till the sun reaches the highest point." Lieu Xia said, picking up a whip from the side.

One of the ensign stood up with disdain on his face and rebutted.

"But the courtyard is at least 30 miles long. How could you expect us to run a circle in the morning?!" He shouted, veins pulsing in anger. Lieu Xia eyes narrowed, her soul power flaring up and hitting the ensign, making him kneel on the spot.

"I'm pretty sure you can run around 30 miles at once, no?" Lieu Xia said, her arms crossed.

The boy gritted his teeth and refused to give up. His fingers dug into the palm of his hands.

"I'm a high ranking noble of the Celestial empire! I refuse to follow your command!" He shouted.

Lieu Xia's eyes flashed, and she put away the whip and summoned her soul essence.

The room started to heat up as a yellow phantom lion appeared behind her, whilst her body began to transform.

Her ears grew, turning it like a lions, the hairs on her body were like a golden fire dancing in the winds, making her look heroic, and her nails became sharp. She no longer looked like a human, but a demon. yellow flames appeared on her skin, making the room burn with heat.

"You refuse, huh? Then you can go to the infirmary for 5 days and get expelled if you can't withstand the pain." Lieu Xia said, raising her right arm with the palm of her hand facing downwards.

Suddenly a golden fire shot out, looking like a lion's palm, that groped the ensign head, making him scream in pain as the hair on his body began to burn.

"Now, will you still refuse my orders, you ungrateful bastard?" Lieu Xia said, tightening her grip. The ensign could barely speak, his face pale as he looked at Lieu Xia with a pleading look. His face was red like a watermelon that was about to explode at any moment.

"P...Please.... I'll run..." He muttered. Lieu Xia chuckled and let him go, her soul power and appearance returning back to normal. The ensign fell on the ground, his entire body burnt.

"Send him to the infirmary. If any of you can't complete my orders, the punishment is the same. Get going! If I find a single person who didn't run the entire courtyard, I will make their lives a living hell." Lieu Xia said, unleashing her soul power amongst the ensign.

Everyone stood up and rushed outside, not daring to get on her bad side. Liang Jainwei, Elaine, and Thomas made their way towards the outer courtyard.

"Fuck, why didn't I skip school? I could be sleeping, but no. My parents fucking force me to go here. God damn it." Thomas said, his voice filled with hatred. Elaine rolled her eyes and spoke.

"It wasn't just you who was forced to go here, but me as well. You know very well why." Elaine said.

Thomas rolled his eyes and began to jog while he took out three cigarettes and plopped them onto his lips. Elaine sighed and began jogging as well, running next to Thomas.

Some of the girls saw this and instantly became sad.

Liang Jianwei was about to run after them, but was interrupted by his two desk mates.
