Chereads / Kodalia / Chapter 38 - The Heroes' Return

Chapter 38 - The Heroes' Return

After a short trip, Siquioce and his party climbed back up

the entrance slope and into the warm embrace of the sun's rays. Humming in

contentment, Kantuta clasped her hands together and stretched her arms, trying

to absorb as much sunlight as possible.

"Ah, it feels good to be back. I wonder if Bo will be as

happy to...hey!"

Kantuta stopped stretching and looked to the right, where Bo

was found sleeping against a fallen tree.

"Unbelievable! He was sleeping?! While we were risking our

lives in that cave, he was SLEEPING?!"

Clenching her hands tightly, Kantuta stormed over to the

slumbering Urosite, leaving deep, muddy footprints in her wake. Once she

reached the lizard, she raised her staff and bonked Bo over the head with it.

"Wake up, you lazybones!"

Crying out in surprise, Bo fell on his side before sitting

up and looking around in confusion. After getting his bearings, he rubbed his

sore head and looked up at Kantuta with wide eyes.

"Oh! Adventurers return?"

"Yes, we have, in fact, returned. You wouldn't be so

surprised if you actually cared to stay awake and wait for us!"

Kantuta furrowed her eyebrows, poking Bo's leathery belly

with her staff.

"How did you even fall asleep, anyway? Surely, the quakes

kept you alert!"

"Quakes?"

Bo tilted his head.

"What quakes?"

"'What quakes'?!"

Kantuta parroted, widening her eyes in disbelief. After looking

between her travel mates and the Urosite wordlessly, she holds her head and

groans before facing Bo with an exasperated expression.

"You're just hopeless...anyhow, that's behind us. What

matters now is that we found something interesting while we were down there."

"That's right," Yuchauzh added, "As it turned out, there was

a overgrown excamole causin' a ruckus down there. We caught it in the middle of

chowing down on a giant pink crystal."

Hearing this, Bo gasped and lurched his body forward,

looking up at Yuchauzch in astonishment.

"Giant pink crystal?! Is heart of jungle!"

With this information being known to them, Kantuta and

Yuchauzh stepped back in surprise before the former smacked her head.

"Oh, so that is what it was! How could I be so blind to the

truth?"

"So, that ground-dwelling giant was makin' a snack out of

the jungle's most valuable resource?" Yuchauzh asked, holding his chin.

"Yes!" Bo replied, "That why jungle die! But adventurers

defeat mole, right?"

Kantuta nodded and crossed her arms.

"Correct. It was a struggle, but we managed to subdue the

excamole, return it to normal, and make it spit out the crystals that it

injected. No thanks to you..."

Paying no heed to the last part, Bo got up and raised his

hands to the sky, giving the party a wide, toothy smile.

"Huzzah! Adventurers do good! No, heroes do good! Elf,

orc, and fish save jungle!"

Bo chuckled, placing his hands behind his back as he paced

around.

"Oh, Bo can't wait to share good news. Urosites will be so

happy! But first..."

He spun to face Kantuta, giving her a mischievous grin.

"Elf have promise to keep. Elf

say she pleasure Bo, right?"

Kantuta's eyes became like saucers as she stared straight at

the lustful Bo, unsure of how to respond. After some time, she let out a

hopeless sigh and looked at the ground, only barely meeting Bo's gaze.

"Right...I did agree to that, didn't I?"

She closed her eyes and took another breath in, wringing her

hands together anxiously. Following a long pause, she opened her eyes and

turned her attention back towards Bo.

"If we are really doing this...I do have one request."

"A request?"

Bo narrowed his eyes slightly.

"What is it?"

Gathering more of her courage, Kantuta gulped and locked

eyes with Bo, drumming her fingers together in the process.

"If I am to have this...intimate interaction with you...I want

something in return. You see, I have heard that a rare plant, the Talonroot,

can be found in this area. If you happen to know where I can find one of those

flowers, I would greatly appreciate it if you could point me in the right

direction."

Bo narrowed his yellow eyes even further, letting out a

contemplative hum as he considered Kantuta's request. A few seconds of thinking

later, he shrugged.

"Sure. Bo can give elf what she wants. But only if she gives

Bo what he wants."

Feeling a slight sense of relief, Kantuta smiles and bows in

gratitude.

"Oh, thank you, thank you very much. Well, then..."

Blushing, she sits down on a nearby log and folds her hands

over her lap.

"I suppose that I must hold up my end of the bargain. Yuchauzh,

Siquioce, look away."

Despite being partially out of the loop, Siquioce obediently

turns around, firmly keeping Kantuta and Bo out of his sight. Yuchauzch, on the

other hand, only averted his gaze partly, still keeping his head turned enough

to get a glimpse of the action.

Before Kantuta could voice her anger, she felt  Bo's clawed hand dive into her robe through

the hem of her torso, causing her words to get stuffed by a shocked gasp. Turning

even redder, she closed her eyes and quivering mouth in an attempt to stifle a

moan as Bo's hand travelled lower, getting closer and closer to her sensitive

zone until...

"...Hey! Where is cloaca?!"

Blinking her eyes open, Kantuta looked down at Bo, wearing a

confused expression.

"M-my...cloaca...?"

Bo rummaged around some more, eliciting another gasp from

Kantuta before frowning.

"Elf no have cloaca! Just weird slit! Gross!"

Shaking his head in disappointment, Bo removed his hand from

Kantuta's clothes, prompting her to let out a breath of relief. Wiping his hand

against his skin, he shuddered before crossing his arms.

"Darn it...Bo wanted mate with cute elf. Why she have such

weird organ?"

"Wait a minute," Yuchauzh interjected, "Can't you just—"

Before Yuchauzh could finish his

sentence, he was met with an elbow thrust to the stomach from Kantuta. As her

associate doubled over in pain, Kantuta rested her  and gave Bo a sympathetic look.

"Oh, I am so sorry, Bo.

Unfortunately, it seems as though our bodies are incompatible. How regrettable."

"Yeah..."

Bo hung his head, looking dejected

for a while before looking up with a hint of hope in his eyes.

"Can Bo at least have kiss, like

he asked?"

"What? Erm...sure, I do not see

why not."

Clenching her hands again,

Kantuta closed her eyes and strengthened her resolve before tenderly bending

over and placing a kiss on Bo's scaly head, recoiling slightly at the rough

texture.

"There. Is that satisfactory?"

Bo simply stood still for a good

minute, staring straight ahead like a statue. A moment later, he started

spinning around like a drunkard, wearing a dopey smile as he held his cheeks

with his scaly hands.

"Oh, is very satisfactory. Bo

never feel so good. Bo feel so loved..."

As Siquioce and Yuchauzh ogled

at the woozy Urosite in a mix of curiosity and amusement, Kantuta smirked and

rolled her eyes.

"Well, at least you are enjoying

yourself. Now that I have fulfilled your request, would you be so kind as to

escort me to my flower?"

"Hehe, of course."

Bo turned to the left and

pointed forward before wobbling away, still wearing that dazed smile.

"This way..."

As their guide made his way off,

Kantuta turned to face Siquioce and placed her hands on her hips.

"Well, that was fortunate,

wasn't it? I got to avoid an embarrassing situation AND I am about to receive a

gift! It seems that Lady Luck is smiling upon me today."

"Yeah, seems like it."

Siquioce looked past Kantuta and

towards Bo, who was still on his way out of the white forest.

"Well, we had better get moving.

We wouldn't want to miss out on this flower of yours, would we?"

With that, Siquioce begins

squelching after Bo, leading Kantuta to skip after him. As his teammates departed,

Yuchauzh huffed, tapping his log against his shoulder a bit before begrudgingly

following Siquioce.

"Well, that was anticlimatic..."
