As she lay on her bed, the voice that had occupied her head resurfaced.
The voice was very much unlike her, rebellious and domineering, pushing her and prompting her to do things she had never considered doing in her life. Though she had gained her power, she wasn't sure about how to use it yet, and she couldn't afford to get hurt.
"Why are you sleeping all alone? I know you want to seize him and claim him. Why do you hesitate?"
"Can you just stop messing with my head?"
"I can't help it," "it" rebutted with a chuckle like a toothless wicked witch.
Charlotte rolled over and rose up from her bed. She wished Ella was also here. There was no one to teach her light magic, so she'd be stuck at the fundamentals.
