When finally Kaia came down to eat something it was already night time. His eyes were still red. But what was happening was so different from his mood. Yui was happily making something fancy carefully following the instructions on his ipad. When he saw Kaia he happily called him in and ask him to wait for the food to finish.
Kaia did as he was told and didn't even bother to ask what's the occasion. It was after a while that Julian finally came home. Yui ran out the kitchen to greet him while Kaia stayed behind ignoring the happy couple.
As usual Julian got out of the shower again with dripping wet hair. Kaia didn't pay any attention again which somehow doesn't sit well with him. Here's the thing ever since Yui came Julian rarely see Kaia's face. Dinner, breakfast he rarely eats. It has been a while since Julian ate Kaia's cooking. It was somewhat unsettling that he never cooks anymore.
Now Yui on the other although he can cook, he can only make a few two or three simple dishes so most of the time they eat outside. It's been a long time that Julian has had homemade food. And now they (Julian and Yui) and Kaia eat seperately.
So to see Kaia in the kitchen when he got out of the shower, a sign relief went off in his heart as if this was how it should be. He casually went and sit next to Kaia while the latter ignore him. Now they were both sitting by the kitchen island facing the person who is doing the cooking.
Kaia still didn't know the occasion but he was a bit hungry after staying in his room all day.
"Ah congratulations Yui", spoke Julian from his side.
"Thank you!...", replied happily the other, "Aahhh! I didn't tell you right?!" said slightly raising his voice in excitement to Kaia to which he nodded his head in agreement.
"Well I auditioned for this role i really wanted and I got the role!" Yui said with excitement. Kaia was suprised and thought what a coincidence, the day he got removed was the day Yui got a role. He was somewhat suspicious but afterall it must've been only a coincidence there's no chance at all right?
But what came out of Yui mouth the next moment felt like someone was reaching for his guts inside him.
"Do you know that famous writer Laila Rodds? She's very famous and my favourite writer of all time, one of her books is getting a movie and I got a part in it. It's always been a dream to work with my favourite writer...."
Kaia's went numb not grasping what was happening. No way in hell was this true. He actually lost to Yui. But then again something got his attention as Yui said the following words,
"... Actually I was really lucky. Some guy got the part first but then he suddenly got sick or something so he wasn't available and..."
"What?", Kaia cut him off. Since he was only one that was replaced he knew what role Yui got but just didn't wanna believe it.
"The previous guy got sick. I don't know who and I hope he's better but still I'll thank him in my heart."
What bullshit was this person saying was all Kaia could think about. That's what they told him, he got sick?!. He knew that Yui was part of a company so the chances of him getting roles were higher than his but still this was all bullshit.
He got up and just muttered the words he's not hungry and left. He couldn't really voiced out because by the sound of it even Yui didn't know what was happening and thought he's just really lucky. So the big investor must've been from Yui's company.
Which was false because that investor was sitting next to him. But for now Kaia doesn't know that.
