The sounds of a woman crying made Killian slow his horse, he moved in place while waiting for a command, Killian focused on his keen sense to find the direction of the sound. Once located he kicked his horse on the side and pulled the riens in the direction they where to go. He first caught site of smoke from the tree line, a fire burning out.. The cries where now silent sobs as he slowed his pace. He stopped a distance dismounting his horse before slowly approaching out of sight to evaluate the situation.
Reaching a small patch of trees before the opening into a beautiful meadow he saw the remains of a wagon. He could smell burnt flesh, he'd smeld it before during war. A young man was pinned to a tree with an arrow, older man laid dead almost hacked into pieces. But there in a dark red and black cloak was who's cry had caught his attention. A woman's cry, he scanned over the meadow with his eyes making sure this was no trap before approaching the woman.
The scent of blood grew stronger as he walked forward his horse in toe. "Are you alright Miss?" He asked no response just silent sobs, as he stepped closer he noticed her cloak was not red or black.. It was covered in dried blood. A large gash ran across her back, the cloak had been a light brown. She was still breathing but seeing her tracks he knew she had found her way here. With No blood this was not where she'd been attacked.
Killigan knelt beside her and lifted up her chin to get her attention, and was shocked to see a young woman's face. Her green eyes red from crying, "I won't hurt you, but I must get you to a doctor to be treated." He pulled a flask from his pouch, "Drink this it will help with the pain." Astra could barely see the man helping her sit up, she felt him place a flask in her hands. She struggled to put it to her lips and tried drinking it.
She had no will to drink it, she felt emptiness a void like pit in her gut. The liquor burned her throat making her cough, Killigan. Gently picked the girl up into his arms setting her on his horse sideways. It would not be a comfortable ride in her condition but if he did nothing she would die like the others in this camp.
Getting on he pulled her close to his body, an arm wrapped around her lower waist. "I'll try to keep you steady so it's less painful of a ride." She said nothing eyes focused on the camp as the horse started to galloping fast toward the main road. Astra felt every movement but the pain seemed to dull, her eyes became heavy and eventually everything went black.
Killigan felt the girls body slump, "Hold on a bit longer! Hold on!" He had not seen anything like that scene off the battlefield. On a battlefield you could come to sense with distruction or loss with out much thought. These lands where far cry from a battlefield, Lord Killigan could not overlook such an act on his land. He wasn't going to let this young woman die, not when he could save her…
