(Third person POV)
As the gamma machine unleashed a colossal wave of energy, time seemed to stop.
The force of energy struck Dr. Banner and Andrew with the impact of a speeding truck, hurling them against the lab's concrete walls with such force that it left deep indentations. In any ordinary world, such an event would have been fatal.
The energy permeated their beings, altering them at an enigmatic level beyond human comprehension.
For Andrew, the experience was akin to molten lava coursing through his veins, a searing agony that consumed his consciousness, awakening powers that had lain dormant throughout his life.
For Banner, the energy stirred memories of his tormented childhood, igniting an unparalleled rage within him.
As Andrew crumpled to the floor, Banner began to undergo a transformation. His once dark brown eyes glowed with an eerie green light, his muscles growing, and his skin becoming the same verdant hue as his rage-fueled eyes.
**Kamar-Taj**
In the tranquil heart of Kamar-Taj, the Ancient One sat serenely in a spacious chamber, her legs crossed in deep meditation. While enveloped in utter silence, she sensed a shift in the atmosphere, a burgeoning energy she had not felt in many years. Slowly, delicate creases formed at the corners of her eyes as she concentrated, seeking to pinpoint the exact origin of this mysterious energy surge.
It was only a matter of seconds before she found what she was looking for, and without another thought, she rose to her feet, opening a portal in one motion.
What she was greeted with as the portal formed was acrid dark smoke billowing out of the portal.
Not seeming to notice the smoke, she moved her hands in a pulling motion, dragging the lifeless body of a young man from the portal as a deep roar shook Kamar-Taj from the portal, but before whatever created the roar could act and possibly come through the portal, it snapped close.
From across the large room, the doors to the Ancient one's meditation room burst open, revealing multiple masters of the mystic arts.
The first to run in was kaecilius, who carried a Staff, followed by others, also armed with weapons.
"Ancient one!" kaecilius said breathlessly, coming to a halt as he absorbed everything in front of him.
"Everything is well, kaecilius." The ancient one said, raising a hand in their direction, never removing her eyes from the young man in military garb.
"Who is that?" The accented voice of Wong asked from the rear of the group of sorcerers.
"I'm not sure." The ancient one said, almost in a whisper as her hand dropped to her side.
(First person POV)
'What…the…fuck!' I thought as I let out an unconscious groan of pain as my consciousness came back to me.
Everything hurt, and I mean everything hurt.
"don't try to move." a soft feminine voice from my left side.
Startled, I unconsciously tried to turn my head in their direction, even though I had yet to manage to open my eyes.
But before my head could even manage a fraction of an inch, a cold hand softly grabbed hold of my head.
"I said dont move." the feminine voice said, amusement in her voice.
Managing to open my mouth a little, I croaked out a word.
"where?" I managed to get out, my voice sounding like two pieces of sandpaper being rubbed together.
"You are at Kamar-Taj." She said, her hand leaving my head as I heard a soft clink beside me.
'Kamar-Taj?' I was confused, I had never heard of that hospital before.
"You must sleep. You are not yet well and need to save your energy." the woman said, before I felt my head be lifted and something was put to my lips.
As I slowly fell back into the darkness of my mind, I couldn't help but notice the weird feeling in the center of my chest again, it was the same one from when I was in the hospital.
Snapping my eyes open, I inhaled a lung full of air as I shot upright.
Looking around myself, I found that I was laying in a small cot in the corner of a dirt room the size of a storage room for a janitor.
The floor was dirt, and from the look of, the room looked like it came from the 13th century.
Looking down, I had to blink a few times. First, I was completely nude, with only a small wool blanket to cover myself. But that wasn't what really caught my attention.
"What the hell?" I said to myself as I ran my fingers over a large scar that ran straight across my chest from my right pec muscle over to the left.
The scar was wide and looked like a burn mark.
Looking up, I watched as the small wooden door to my room was opened.
I couldn't stop my brows as they rose at the sight of a bold woman stepping into the room, wearing bright yellow and orange robes.
'What the fuck is going on!' I thought as the woman smiled at me.
"Good morning, Mr. Cole." The familiar voice of the woman from before said with a small smile.
"Uhg…mornin." I said, looking around the room uncomfortably, as I held the blanket over my middle.
The woman, who I saw was older than her voice made me think, smiled at me again.
"Sorry for the lack of clothes," She said, walking closer to my bed. "We tried to dress you a few times, but…it didn't go so well." She said, taking a seat at the end of my bed, turning to face me.
'What does she mean by that?' I thought, confused.
But before I could ask, she continued.
"Can you tell me the last thing you remember before coming here?" She asked, her eyes becoming sharp.
I couldn't help but gulp as she looked me dead in the eyes.
I had staired in the eyes of some of the hardest Sgt majors and gunnery Sgts the Marines had to offer without a sweat, but this woman, there was something different about them.
It was as if she had seen the darkest side of humanity and lost the last vestiges of her sanity and had to fight tooth and nail to regain it.
It was haunting.
"Not really." I said before I could stop myself.
Normally I wouldn't have said anything in this predicament, and instead ask for the military or give her my name, rank, and service number, not start spilling my guts out, but the words just seemed to keep coming out.
"It was a science experiment…something to do with recreating the supersoldier serum…but the machine that was supposed to do that accidentally activated while it was being prepared for the experiment. It lost control. I went to get the scientist out, the one in charge of the machine, but he said if we didn't try to get the machine back under control it would blow like a nuke…" I said, my brows furrowed as I tried to remember what had happened.
The woman slowly nodded her head, her eyes never leaving mine.
"That's…all I can remember. Besides when I woke up and you put me back to sleep."
As soon as I finished speaking, her eyes seemed to soften back to normal.
"I see," She said thoughtfully. "Well now that you are awake, I will have clothes brought to you. Get dressed and meet me outside." She said, standing to her feet and leaving the room.
