[Alice POV]
"Groooan." I groaned boredly as I read a textbook I found in the local university. It was a biology book, one of the subjects I studied in college. I noticed since becoming vampire that my cognitive ability and mental capacity has increased by a large amount. Sigh, how I wished it was like this when I had my exams. As for why I was studying biology, it wasn't because I missed my biology classes, it was because of my trait, [Blood Rush]. I realized that I can create traits by combining demonic energy and my knowledge of the human body.....although I haven't had any success.
"This is so boring, I miss Colin. That bastard better bring me back a gift." I said boredly while reading the book and drinking a bottle of blood, Colin's blood.
"I guess I should go on patrol and see if I can find anything." I sighed as I put down the book and the bottle of blood. I grabbed a sword from my room and transformed into my Vampiric form and flew into the sky. I activated my [Aura Vision] skill, searching for anything out of the ordinary. As I leisurely flew threw the night sky, I suddenly sensed many red auras in the forest....and they heading towards the city.
'Are the demonic beasts attacking the city? Finally, something fun to do.' I thought excitedly and flew towards the beasts. As I got closer I noticed that something was wrong, I could smell the scent of rot and death, and weirdly enough the other beasts in the forest were running away from the incoming group of beast. I have observed the beasts a lot during my free time and I have never seen them running away from another beasts unless it was a higher tier. But based on their aura, they were tier 3 at most.
'Could these beasts be special in some way?' I asked myself excitedly. As I got closer, the scent of rot and death became more and more unbearable until I was forced to use [Senses Manipulation] to block my sense of smell.
"What the hell?" I murmured when I finally laid eyes on the beasts. The beasts mostly looked like cows but woke look and you could tell they weren't, at least not anymore. They had glowing red irises that were a slit just like a predators, their scleras were black with no veins, they were covered in wounds with chunks of flesh missing from each and everyone of them with a black miasma leaking out of the wounds and even worse, I could see pus and pieces of rotten flesh threatening to fall of their decaying bodies. I shuddered as I looked at these disgusting things.
"These must be the undead beasts Colin told me about." I said with a disgusted expression on my face, dreading even touching them but I knew I had to kill them.
'This is going to be gross.' I thought before diving towards the horde and activated [Shadow Cloak] to hide my aura. The undead cows suddenly stopped and started looking around confused, because of my sudden disappearance act. I flew towards one of the cows with my sword beheading it immediately and flew away to escape the creatures rotten blood.

'Finally, I gained some exp...it's been way too long.' I thought to myself and I could feel my fangs extending due to my growing excitement. The cows mooed loudly in unison and a large amount of demonic energy vibrated through the air, and I could feel my [Shadow Cloak] coming undone.
"Not this again." I said as I became visible once again. All the cows glared at me and opened their mouths and I could see a black ball forming in their mouths as I charged at them. Every cell in my body screamed for me to dodge and that's exactly what I did, I quickly stopped mid flight and flew upwards as they launched their attacks. Dozens of black orbs were launched at me but I had tricks of my own, I dodged most of them but those that I couldn't dodge I destroyed with a slash of red aura from my sword. This was something I discovered while doing some experiments with demonic energy. While trying to shoot blood out of my palm, sounds stupid I know, I shot a blast of pure demonic energy instead. Since then I have developed this ability until I could even use it with my sword.
In the end, none of the black orbs managed to hit me but I shivered when I saw the aftermath. All the orbs crashed into trees and exploded into a black mist and as soon as they touched the trees, they would wither and dry up before turning into nothing but a white powder that was blown away by the wind.
