"What are you doing?" Sera asked with a frown as she on top of the bus.
"Nothing." I said and dispelled the same
"I just realized we haven't formally introduced ourselves yet have we. My name is Sera, and you are?" She asked
"Colin." I said
"So Colin the true Demon, I have a question for you. Why did you decide to come all the way here from City B?" Sera asked
"Why do you care?" I asked, not even looking at her
"Just curious, it's not every day that a true Demon comes to the rescue of an Angel." She said
"If you really wanna know, I had nothing better to do and when Synthia asked me to come and rescue a friend of hers, I thought it was a good opportunity to travel and see how the world has changed since this apocalypse has started." I said
"Huh, so does that mean you like Synthia?" Sera asked with mischievous smile on her face, I turned around slowly and looked at her with a blank expression on my face.
"No, how did you get that from what I said?" I asked unamused
"I bet Synthia would be heart broken if she heard that, she spoke very highly of you." She said with an exaggerated sigh and I couldn't help but think about how strange this Angel was.
"I have something else to ask you, what is the current state of City B?" She asked again and I decided to indulge her since I had nothing else to do.
"All the building except Synthia's mansion have been destroyed due to an attack by a horde of Greater Imps. Almost half the priests have died during this attack but those that survive will probably be more motivated to get stronger. Oh, there will probably be another attack on the city soon." I said nonchalantly and she looked at me with a frown.
"What do you mean 'there will be an attack soon'?" She asked
"Just before I left, I discovered a town full of undeads including a tier 4 corpse lord." I said and her frown deepened.
"And you still decided to come here?" She asked with a raised eyebrow
"She insisted that I come here and she seemed convinced that the other Angels will arrive before the undeads decide to attack." I shrugged and she sighed. I expected her to go back inside the bus but instead she sat beside me on the top of the bus and stared into the distance.
*********************************************
The bus continued to travel on the road for hours and since all the beasts in this section of the forest has mysteriously disappeared, there were no attacks. During the journey, the strange duo sat on top of the bus, silently staring into the distance.
"Don't you think it's time for you to head inside the bus, I'm sure your Saints are getting worried about you?" I said in a calm tone but internally I was getting annoyed with this Angel.
"No, I like feeling the wind in my face and I doubt they are worried about me." Sera replied calmly
"Still, shouldn't you go down their to atleast reassure them that everything is going to be alright, isn't that something a leader does?" I asked hoping that she would leave. Ever since she came up here it almost felt like she was probing me or keeping an eye on me or something, in any case, her presence makes me uncomfortable.
"Why should I do that? It is likely that a few will die on the journey and telling them otherwise would be a lie." She shrugged
"Then can you atleast stop doing whatever it is your doing, it's getting annoying." I said calmly
"What do you mean?" She asked with a puzzled look on her face.
"Whatever it is that you are using to probe me, stop." I said and glared at her.
"And if I don't." She said meeting my glare.
"I promised Synthia to bring you back alive, but I'm sure an angel like yourself wouldn't die from losing a limb or two." I said calmly, a bit too calmly.
"Fine." She said and it felt like a pressure was lifted off my shoulders.
"Just so you know, that was a trait of mine called [Empathy]. It allows me to sense the emotions of the people around me." She said and I looked at her with surprise evident on my face. I didn't think there were traits like that, which made me wonder how she could even learn something like that.
"Why would you be using a trait like that on me?" I asked curiously
"Knowing someone's emotions gives you some insight on there thought and I wanted to make sure you weren't going to kill anyone because they pissed you off." She said
"So do you think I'm going to kill?" I asked
"No, not right now anyway. If they piss you off any more though you just might." She said
"So now that you have your answer, can you please leave." I said
"I'd rather not." She said and I sighed, the journey once again continued in silence and soon, the visage of the City I came into view.
