Alex watched his surroundings once more and noticed people emerging from buildings to observe the commotion on the shore. He stood there, observing the monster as it coughed and thrashed. This moment was not the time to hide his powers, and the moonlight, in the absence of nearby arcanite poles, was sufficient to conceal the magic behind the devil's hand.
To any onlooker, it would seem as if Alex simply had a normal gauntlet and a sword emerging from this device, akin to an assassin's hidden blade. Alex attempted to use his new power, the combat enemy interface. He focused on it, but nothing occurred, reminiscent of his initial days in Tevia when he needed to speak for anything related to the Endowment to materialize.
When he whispered "Enemy Combat Interface," his vision shifted to red, unlike the usual blue screens he had been seeing since his death on Earth. As he gazed at the monster, a message appeared:
