Chapter 23: A Sketchy Matchmaker
"Son, I'm really glad that you've decided to cooperate with your doctors," said Madam Zhou, turning to her son. "After the operation, you will be able to walk normally again. Everyone is eagerly waiting for your recovery and return." Her voice was soft and gentle while looking solemnly at her son's face.
"Even Qian Qian immediately booked a flight back to the country when she heard that you would undergo an operation," she added, hoping to impress her son and realize the importance of that lady in his life. "I told her that she didn't have to since she seemed so busy, but she still insisted, saying she was worried about you. How good would it be if such a good child were my daughter-in-law?"
Madam Zhou was upset that her son's marriage had ended prematurely due to a shameless country bumpkin who left her son for another man. He had become a divorcee thanks to that girl who doesn't know what's good for her.
