Everyone held their breath, not knowing what to expect anymore.
'Are we destined to become bird food?' they all wondered, eyeing the menacing birds that seemed to be salivating at the sight of them.
Seeing Howl's sour expression, still miffed after smooching a morbid beast that looked like it crawled out of a horror movie, Sigrid could only sigh. He turned to the ragtag group of wolves who were watching them warily.
"Hey! Hey!" Sigrid greeted them with his right hand raised, his eyes nearly disappearing as he flashed a grin so wide it could rival a Cheshire cat. "Don't worry, we come in peace," he said, flashing a charming smile at the females who were ogling him. "We're from the Adarna clan, faithful servants of Goddess Solaris."
The mention of the Sun Beast God seemed to put the wolves at ease. After all, who would dare to use the name of a God to deceive others? Unless they want a punishment worse than death, they can try.
