Jack was walking in the park alone. Someone tapped his back. He turned. It was Jenny, his childhood friend.
" How are you Jack? " she asked.
Jack gave her a smile and said, "l'm fine."
Both of them sat on a bench in the park. Jenny was very talkative. She went on telling him about her friends, her college, relatives but Jack was still lost in deep thought.
" Are you ignoring me? You seem lost somewhere. " She said looking at him.
" Aww.. Missing your girlfriend. Right? " Jenny teased him.
" No." Jack said.
" Don't try to hide anything from me." Jenny said.
"How can miss someone who doesn't exist? " Jack replied her.
"Anyways tell me, how is your study going on? " Jack tried to change the topic.
"Yeah, it's going smoothly but no excitement at all. I am fed up of daily assignment, project work and all. " Jenny said with sulking face, " this park is only place of hangout for me. "
" Why don't we all friends plan for any tour? I want to have some fun, out of this boring schedule. " She said excitedly.
" Okay! Let us plan something for this coming vacation. "Jack told her.
After gossiping a lot, Jenny said, " Jack i get to go home now talk you later. " and she left for her home but Jack didn't want to return.
The park was full of children playing, swinging, shouting with joy, laughing out hard, running out of excitement.
Some people were sitting on the bench and enjoying the sunset and chirping of the birds returning to their nest.
"Everyone wanted to end the day beautifully no matter what happened the whole day. "
There was a river flowing nearby the park. Jack went and sat there. There were no turbulence in it, flowing quiet and swift. It was very calm and silent here but there was a lot of chaos inside his head. His mind kept haunting him to recall the memories where he might met her.
It was the time for the sun to be replaced by the moon and the stars. So, Jack returned home and went to the drawing room, switched on the TV.
Rosy, his sister came and sat beside him. She was wearing a silver band in her hand.
Jack started shouting at her " Go and sit somewhere else. You know well that I am allergic to silver yet you came and sat here, wearing it. "
She got frightened at his behaviour. He had never shouted at her like this before. He could say this politely. He used to very loving and caring to her but today it was completely different. She was surprised at his behaviour. She didn't reply anything and left the room.
At the dinning table also there was a pin drop silence. Rosy who used to be nosy was kept quiet. They finished their dinner and went to bed around ten O'clock.
