Never once have I heard such game, not until the transferee student decided to seat beside me.
As far as I can remember, it was an otome dating simulation game. It targeted those people with lonely souls or —just because they were bedazzled by how each capture target looks.
He has been addicted to this 'A Kingdom, Love and War'. My seatmate would constantly blabber about it.
"Did you know otome means maiden?"
"Gah! I died again?!"
"Pres, who do you think is more handsome?"
Goodness gracious! I don't know who's head I should bang first! Is it mine or his?!
—Nevertheless, I found myself listening to his nonsense.
Anyhow, this otome game is set to medieval times, it's people and the land itself consist of magic.
You play as a simple town's girl named Molly Ernst. The heroine that got a chance to became a scholar on the prestigious Pattinson, an academy meant for training young aristocrats and prodigies. Be it magic, knighthood, advance etiquette, astronomy, economics, and even research.
Pattinson Academy is located between the borders of the two Kingdoms, Banica and Ramona. Its purpose was to maintain the peace treaty for both Kingdoms.
In this Academy, Molly (you) would meet the 4 capture target. Take note that three of these men are can be hardly seduced, one wrong move and your head would get chopped off, then you'll go back to level 0.
That was how my patience grew thin when my seatmate would just yell out of nowhere and oftentimes dramatically tap his screen harshly.
'Poor phone.'
The first capture target is the Crown Prince of Banica, Keegan Roshwell. His golden hair would glistened like gold, sharp azure eyes that would feel like his pricking your soul, his route was one of the hardest.
A disciplined man at first, responsibilities before anything else, that's why it was hard to charm him up since he was also betrothed to the Princess of Ramona. As Molly Ernst, taking his route would mean breaking of their engagement. Their engagement was supposed to strengthen the trust of both Kingdoms until you tag along.
His ending would make you his queen and your child would be the one to marry the youngest prince of Ramona.
The second capture target would be the proud Viscount of Banica, Abe Keaton. An admirable and honestly kind-hearted man, for a noble.
But, no matter how sweet he is, he could not be easily swayed by pathetic skims. He is more than meets the eye, so Molly would have a hard time pleasing him. In spite of that, his ending is quite chivalric. After choosing him, a war would take place between the two Kingdoms and it would not only slaughter the Crown Prince and his descendants, the Ramona royal families also.
By this, the Banica successfully claimed Ramona, the people would be in favor of the Viscount and be held as the new leader of a now joint kingdom.
The third capture target is Archduke Samel Loic Vonne, the eldest son of the King of Ramona. He passed down the inheritance to his youngest brother, making the middle child of King Theodore betrothed to the Crown Prince of Banica.
In the late Queen's request, Samel inhereted the duchy. His route is quite risky, you could unlock the 'bad-end-by-death,' if Molly doesn't unlock the right ending for one of the love interests, she will die in a tragic accident.
—Or if played professionally, you would unlock the hidden route. Keep rejecting the Archduke and if you manage to escape his possessiveness, the only land you can freely set foot would be the far away empire of Napoleani.
This would reveal the fourth capture target, Emperor Eiran Favreau. A competent ruler, his nothing but an enigma, his strength unmatched as the true God of War in Napoleani.
The Emperor is a renowned playboy, but can be hardly please, if you do manage to peak his interest, he would add you to his collection of concubines. Eiran would also save you from the grasps of the Archduke.
Molly would be given a certain amount of time to convince the Emperor and if you fail. He will send you back to Ramona and that would lead you getting killed by the Archduke.
The fifth and the last capture target is none other than Molly's childhood bestfriend. Nolen Lykke is also a scholar from Pattinson Academy, a trusted friend, will be willing to help you escape the wickedness of the villainess.
His ending is quite simple, you'll have a peaceful married life with him in the countryside and have kids, inspite of the years in solitude, you'll bare a son and he would become a notorious criminal. When the higher ups found out, you and Nolen would be hanged.
However, a 'regressed' option will pop out of the screen, if you can uncover his secret, you'll unlock the 'reverse route'. This route inverts the standard roles of the characters, with Molly playing the dominant role and the love interest playing the submissive role.
"55.."
And those are the capture targets of "A Kingdom, Love and War."
"54.."
As everyones knowledge, it was only normal that the villains of a story would suffer at the end. A time where justice will be served, the tables will turn.
This was the moment my seatmate would express his gratitude towards the developers, saying the princess must suffer more. I couldn't blame him though, given the 'detailed' torture and hurdles she gave to the players.
"50.."
I clasped my hands as the counting continued. The villainess of this otome game was none other than the middle child of King Theodore, the beloved sister of the Archduke, the fiancée of the Crown Prince —Princess Ube Ramona.
And she.. is.. me.
