Fortunately, it seemed the twins weren't thinking of abandoning Aerine, and she was only thinking too much.
This was a new environment, and for Aerine, the atmosphere was also a bit heavy. It wasn't that uncomfortable, but she still felt somehow uneasy being in the place, which was the complete opposite of where she was used to.
Her eyes scanned the surroundings; while the sky was different from outside, the air didn't seem to differ much, but normal humans might find it hard to adapt at first.
Aerine was only tense as she could feel more things and smell the powerful presence around her. She scooted closer to Mai.
"Are you afraid?" Mai didn't sound mocking Aerine but more like a serious question, she then smiled. "Don't worry, no one has the guts here to even lay their fingers in your hair."
After all, Aerine had the imprint of their master in her soul; anyone here wouldn't be so foolish as to act against her.
