Chapter 25 - Webpage.

In the evening, Evily had to handle things that were not completed in the day. It was getting late, and there were not many people left in the office.

As she packed up to get off work, Bruce's video call came.

Finding a corner, she answered the call.

 "Where are you?"

"Oh, I… Still in the studio." Evily answered. "I'm getting off work now, so I have to go," she said.

Just then, a familiar voice sounded from behind her, "Oh? Evily you're still here? Coincidentally, I am leaving too. I can give you a lift. Where do you stay?"

"Oh, Mrs Wallace, it's fine, I don't want to bother you," Evily replied, a little surprised.

"No worries! Come on, let's go to the parking lot. I drove here." The older woman waved.

Unable to reject Mrs Wallace's kind gesture, Evily followed her into the elevator, forgetting that her video call was still ongoing.

Seated in the car, Mrs Wallace continued to chat with her. She started to ask Evily about her age, her relationship status, and her ideal type. She even suggested matchmaking her with someone else. By the way, although our department manager is divorced, he's a reliable man, and I think he might be interested in you."

"No way! Mrs. Wallace, don't spout nonsense!"

"Haha, are you shy? He's not bad, to be honest, so you should consider him…"

Mrs. Wallace, how long have you worked at KOAL Corporation? Have you worked longer than Mr Nolen?

Evily hurriedly tried to placate her while diverting her attention elsewhere by asking about the company.

"I worked there for almost eight years. Mr Nolan was already working there when I joined."

As soon as they reached Evily's house, she rushed home as though she was running for her life.

"Evily Swann." A faint, low voice sounded.

Shocked, Evily shot up from her sofa. Her house was silent, and there was no one at home.

Am I dreaming?

Suddenly, a chill ran up her spine.

"Your phone!" A male voice hissed. Evily heard the voice again. My phone?

At that moment, she remembered the video call with Bruce. Hurriedly, she fished out her phone from her bag

She finally realized that the video call was still ongoing.

Her face turned a deep shade of red.

"Evily, you'd better give me an explanation. Your department manager is interested in you? Which department is it? What is his name?"

"Mrs. Wallace is just spouting nonsense." Evily pushed with a forced smile

"I will call you later. Jamie's here." Evily said hurriedly ended the calls .

Evily heaves a long deep closing her eyes briefly. Coincidentally Jamie visited her.

"Ring Ring...."

Evily quietly turned off her phone but her phone kept lighting up.

"Who is it?" Jamie questioned her.

With an awkward smile, she picked up the call.

"Hi!"

Every inch of her body froze up in tension. Bruce let out a titter on the other end of the line. Upon hearing that, chills ran down her spine.

"Eve...."

Evily bit her lips in response and remarked preemptively, "What's up? I am with my friend."

Bruce warned in a deep voice, "Eve, do you want me to tell Jamie how I kissed and hugged you?"

"Ahem, ahem!"

Evily almost choked on her saliva at Bruce's words. Suppressing her cough, she waved at the former while saying to the person on the other end of the call, "I got it. I will cook for you tomorrow."

"Who is it?"

Evily raised the corner of her lips to force a smile. "My Cousin Victoria."

----

The next day Evily had arrived at the film studio, but the mysterious female lead was still nowhere to be found as the team was shooting a few scenes that did not involve her.

In the evening the female lead finally arrived. Her arrival at the film studio had caused a commotion when she was seen with a mysterious man at the airport.

Katherine's relationship had always made headlines. Though she often told the media she was in love with someone, nobody knew who the person was. Rumors had it that the man whom she was dating came from a prominent family in X City. This was why the media was afraid to spill the tea.

This time, people might have caught a glimpse of the man at the airport, but they still could not tell who he was.

Upon seeing the man's silhouette from a distance, the curious Evily had sinking feeling in her heart. She could tell almost immediately that it was Bruce.

Evily couldn't help but feel a little chagrined at herself—being sharp was a good thing, but this wasn't the sort of mental acuity she wanted!

She closed the webpage when there was a commotion at the entrance. When she looked over, she realized that all the film directors had rushed over to the entrance.
