Chapter 54 - family

Ten days later, Zhang Yong had emerged from the northern wilderness, landing his wings on the ground and letting out a long sigh

"Finally, after a long struggle, it seems that I lost some of my memories, but fortunately I still remember who I am and other things."

He stood in his place and looked around, and he could immediately tell his location since this was the place where he grew up. It was on the road separating his village from Nuoding City.

He quickly made his way towards his village to see his parents

After about an hour of walking, Zhang Yong arrived at the doorstep of his village and took a deep breath

"It is wonderful to return to one's origins."

He took short steps, surrounded by the gazes of the villagers, after all the last time they had seen him was when he was six years old.

Even after all these years, the village did not change much. The village elder was still wandering through the fields and seemed busy at work despite his old age.

The aunt who was preparing food for the villagers is still working, this time accompanied by her daughter

Everyone was in good condition and coexisted peacefully

Zhang Yong walked towards his house and stood in front of the door. He felt strange to meet his family again. This moment made him more nervous than any fight he had ever had.

He began to wonder if his parents would even remember him

He knocked on the door slowly, then heard faint footsteps behind the door followed by a childish voice: "Coming."

The door opened and behind it stood a young boy who looked to be about five years old with black hair and golden eyes. He looked a bit like Zhang Yong when he was young.

Zhang Yong was surprised as he looked at the boy strangely. He began to doubt if he had gotten the address wrong, but he was sure.

"Hello, this is where Zhang Li and Zhang Xuan live."

Zhang Yong asked about his father and mother immediately with doubt in his eyes

Before he could hear the answer from the child, he heard a familiar voice coming from behind him

The voice took a few steps out of the kitchen, and a woman with black hair and sparkling golden eyes came out

"Jian'er, who's at the door?"

The woman's eyes clearly widened upon seeing Zhang Yong in disbelief. She may not have recognized him, but Zhang Yong clearly remembered him.

"Hi mom, I'm back"

Zhang Xuan quickly ran towards him and wrapped her hands around him tightly

"My son, Young'er"

Zhang Yong returned the hug warmly, and tears stood in her eyes, sparkling like stars on a clear night.

No matter how strong a person becomes, he will be humiliated in front of his family, and this is inevitable

Little Jian walked towards Xuan, not knowing what was going on, he approached her and pulled her gently, his eyes shining with innocence.

"Mom, why are you crying, and who is this brother?"

After Xuan calmed down a little, she looked at Jian and patted his head, with a bright smile on her face

"Jian'er, this is your big brother, he's been away for a while."

Jian approached Zhang Yong, raised his head, and smiled while raising his hands

"my brother?"

Zhang Yong patted Jian's head and laughed slightly

"Hello, little brother"

Eventually they came in and sat at the table

"You have been gone for a long time, my son. Have you been eating three meals a day, and have you been keeping warm well in the cold?"

Zhang Yong laughed at his mother's excessive care, yet he was glad that she cared for him

"Yes, I'm fine, currently I'm studying at Shrek Academy

"I happened to be passing by, so I came to say hello."

Little Jian climbed the table with his hand excitedly, his eyes shining as he looked at his brother:

"Brother, is it true that you are a spirit master?"

Little Jian was full of energy, especially with his cute appearance. He was glad that his younger brother did not grow up to become a training addict like him.

"Okay"

A smile appeared on Jian's face, he raised his hands and cheered

"Great, next year I will have my soul and I will follow in your footsteps, brother."

With Jian's loud cheering, I heard footsteps coming through the wooden house, heavy but clear and audible, and a voice came from outside, the voice of a familiar man.

"I had returned"

A man with a slightly sturdy build stepped towards the kitchen and his gaze fell directly on Zhang Yong

Zhang Yong immediately got up from his chair

"Young Er"

With his shaking voice echoing in the memory, a sweat-soaked Zhang Li ran towards Zhang Yong and immediately hugged him.

"Son, welcome back."

Unlike Xuan, who was crying, Zhang Lei maintained his composure as he let go, and began to contemplate his grown-up face.

"I've grown so much"

With Zhang Li saying this, he placed his hand on Zhang Yong's shoulder, and then they both took a seat from the table

With Zhang Li asking how he is and how his studies are going

Zhang Yong began to talk about his journey so far with enthusiasm, sharing everything with them, from the Shrek test to their trip to the Star Dou Forest and his fights in the Soto Martial Arena.

After the events were cut short, Zhang Yong asked them about their condition and the condition of the village

Then they had lunch and talked

"Brother, can you show me your soul?" Jian walked towards Zhang Yong, shaking him off his feet

"Jian'er! Your brother came back today. He must be tired from traveling. Let him rest." Xuan scolded him while she was cleaning the dishes.

"I'm not that tired, and I also have to make up for the time I didn't spend with my little brother." Zhang Yong smiled as he patted Jian's head, "Let's go outside."

The two walked out of the house while Jian walked right behind Zhang Yong with a bright smile on his face

Until they reached a familiar area, which was the area that Zhang Yong had used in the past

"So, brother, what's your fighting spirit?" Jian spoke as he jumped up and down excitedly

"It's not a big deal, though..." Naoto opened his right hand and a small Tree of Life appeared, and fresh air spread around it.

Jian looked at Zhang Yong's soul deeply, astonishment appeared on his face, "Brother, your soul is amazing, I can't wait to get mine." Jian spoke excitedly.

Zhang Yong smiled and extended his hand towards Jian, "How about we go for a ride?"

As Jian grabbed his hand, Zhang Yong's Millennium Ring rose

Whoosh

The sound of flapping wings became louder and he flew into the sky with his hands in his arms, but he was afraid and closed his eyes while covering them with his hands.

Zhang Yong looked at Jian in his hands, "Open your eyes, otherwise you won't see anything."

However, Jian kept his eyes closed, "I can't, I'm afraid."

Zhang Yong smiled, "Don't worry, I'm holding you well." Naoto was holding Jian by the waist as he flew

Then Jian opened his eyes to the view of the sunset on the horizon, which dyed the sky golden red and its brilliance, which formed lines of light in the sky.

It brought him comfort, and he couldn't help but spread his arms as if he was flying in search of freedom. "That's great." Those words slid out of his mouth with that bright smile on his face.

"See, isn't it beautiful?" Naoto closed his eyes slightly as he felt the cool breeze of air hitting his face before he flew back home.

He and Jian entered the house and the little boy was yawning deeply. When Zhang Yong noticed this, he put his hand behind his back and pushed him softly, "Go to sleep, you are tired."

However, Jian looked at Zhang Yong with a firm expression, "No, I'm not a child anymore. I want to sleep early. I want to spend more time with you, brother." He shook his hands up and down like a little child.

"Don't worry, I won't suddenly disappear, just go to sleep, you are in your growing period." Zhang Yong ran his hand through Jian's hair and laughed.

Jian nodded softly in response and immediately went to his room to sleep

Zhang Yong walked over to the table and sat down quietly before Xuan turned to him, "It is good to see that Jian'er gets along so well with you." Xuan placed a cup of tea in front of Zhang Yong.

Zhang Yong smiled as he held the cup of tea in his hand, "I've been away for a long time, at least I have to make up for those days." He took a sip and then placed the cup on the table.

Xuan smiled and looked at Zhang Yong with a compassionate but slightly worried look, "Your father and I are just ordinary people so we don't know anything about Soul Masters, but just knowing that you are safe and sound is enough."

Zhang Yong looked at the cup with a little sadness as he scratched it slightly with his fingernail, "I apologize for not writing letters for a while, I was immersed in training."

Xuan looked at her son understandingly, "No problem, then how is Yuan Ling doing?"

Zhang Yong almost choked for a moment as he drank the cup of tea and looked at his mother in confusion, "She is doing well, I think."

Xuan looked like she was waiting for a different answer, yet she left things as they were and tried to change the subject, "How long do you plan to stay for this visit?"

Naoto looked at his mother, "I plan to stay for ten days. After that, I will have to return. During this period, I will try to make up for my absence."

Zhang Yong thought deeply that since he could reach his village in ten days, it should take the same amount of time on his way back, which was more than enough time.

As Zhang Yong chatted with his mother, he did not feel the time passing

Those ten days passed in the blink of an eye, during which he spent his time helping the villagers in the field

And spend some time with his family

On the last day, Zhang Yong was standing in front of the door of the house and about to leave. He turned to his family to bid them farewell, "Well, I think it's time to go." Zhang Yong hugged both of his parents one last time.

His mother hugged him tightly, "We will miss you, please put your safety first." Zhang Yong felt wet drops of tears fall from his mother's eyes onto his robe.

"Don't put too much pressure on yourself," Zhang Li muttered as he put into words the hug

"I know, I will," Zhang Yong replied as he released the two from the embrace

Zhang Yong then knelt down on one knee in front of Little Jian. Two lines of tears were falling from his eyes. Then Zhang Yong patted his head, "Don't cry now, Jian."

Jian wiped away his tears with his right hand while his other hand was holding his clothes. "Why do you have to leave? Why don't you stay with us?" Jian then jumped up and hugged Naoto while crying.

"Jian'er, your brother has to leave now," Xuan said as she tried to pull Little Jian out

Zhang Yong held Jian's head and looked at him with eyes full of compassion, "Jian, I have to go. Since I will be away, I need you to stay by my father's side."

Then, out of nowhere, Zhang Yong took out a book in his hand, a bright white book with "Five Elements Technique" written on top of it in elegant golden handwriting.

"Take this book and study it, and you will become stronger. I want you to do your best in what you love. If you ever want to follow my path and become a soul master as you want, I will always be by your side and support you in your decisions."

(5000 points were spent to copy the skill "Five Elements Technique" into a tangible book)

Jian raised his head towards Zhang Yong and looked at him with those eyes red with tears, "Do you promise that you will come back?"

"I promise"

Jian gently let go of Zhang Yong and grabbed the book from his hands

After they finished saying goodbye, Zhang Yong turned to leave and waved a final farewell to them. After walking for some time, Zhang Yong had arrived at the village fields and unleashed his martial spirit across the field. Then hundreds of shoots emerged from the ground.

Zhang Yong then left through the entrance of the village with a smile appearing on his face

(Are you satisfied with this visit)

Zhang Yong looked at Yuni and then turned towards the village behind him. His heart was carefree and clear as water, "It seems that I have one more reason to become stronger."

Whether it was his previous life or this life one thing was in common and that was his need for power to protect what he wanted to be protected
