Axiang was eating breakfast at the time; a potato slipped from her grasp and fell onto the table. She paused momentarily then slowly picked up the potato and continued eating.
Agen looked back and forth from Axiang to the door, knowing those people were there to take Axiang away. He didn't open the door, but it was apparent that he was worried about Axiang, looking quite anxious.
Axiang felt a calm she had never experienced before. As she ate, she instructed Agen, "My mom wants me to go back, but it's all about saving face. Given the way things are now, what face is there to save? She didn't care about it before, and I don't care about it now. After things settle down, I'll have a proper talk with her. After all, she's still my mom, and I can't disown her. When she gets old, I'll still be the one to take care of her."
Agen seemed to understand and nodded his head accordingly.
