On the third day, Lady Jiang paid another visit to Lady Ning. Upon her return, she was doubled over in pain from her stomach. The Imperial Physician, after examining her, declared she had been poisoned. Consequently, Lady Jiang ordered her servants to search Lady Ning's palace, and there they found prohibited drugs that aren't allowed in the palace, allegedly planted by Lady Ning herself.
Despite her fervent denials, Lady Ning found herself at the wrong end of the Emperor's wrath. He had her banished to the Cold Palace.
