The Emperor always keeps the Virtuous Concubine for the royal sleeping quarters for two reasons. First, her father, the Ministry of Rites Vice Minister, supports the Emperor covertly. Second, the Virtuous Concubine is always demure, not ambitious or arrogant, never acting pretentiously. She is also kind to the other Consorts and Concubines, whose ranks are beneath hers in the Inner Court.
Every time she comes for the royal bed-duty, she is careful and follows the procedures to the letter.
Currently, as the Emperor is still reviewing petitions, she sits quietly by his side waiting. Once it passes 10 o'clock in the evening, she will remind the Emperor, "Your Majesty, it's time to sleep."
The Emperor, who still has quite a few petitions to review, responds indifferently, "Wait a bit."
