The light in his eyes extinguished instantly, pulling at the corners of his mouth, he withdrew his body, leaned back in his chair, his posture lazy, his hand fidgeting with a porcelain cup.
After a good long pause, he finally spoke, "I ordered food, it'll be delivered shortly."
"Uh-huh." Qin Yin nodded and took a few more sips of water. Finally, she gathered enough courage to ask: "Are you unhappy?"
She put down her cup, sitting up straight, waiting for Nan Sichen's response.
"No."
"Why?" Clearly, Qin Yin didn't believe Nan Sichen's response, she disregarded it and asked on her own accord.
"No." Nan Sichen repeated his response, a rare occurrence.
"Because of Jun Nian? Because of the rumors surrounding the Nan family mansion? You've always wanted to ask me, so why haven't you until today?" Qin Yin said in one breath, wholly disregarding Nan Sichen's dishonest response.
