When Qin Yin awoke once more, it was already four in the afternoon. She stared wide-eyed at the ceiling, then jumped out of bed with her blanket still wrapped around her. She looked down from her tower bedroom window to see the servants pruning flowers, watering plants, and setting the tables.
Outside, the sun shined brilliantly, bathing the blooming flowers in light. Everything seemed so beautiful.
With a sudden grumble from her stomach, she remembered she hadn't eaten anything yet. Hastily, she dashed into the bathroom for a quick shower. As she finished dressing and was about to leave her room, she saw a servant approaching with a tray of food and greeting her cheerfully, "Madam, you are awake. Mr. Nan instructed us to offer this drink to you when you woke up."
As Qin Yin watched the servant set down the tray and lift the lids one by one.
Underneath, there was a few delicate dishes, a bowl of rice, and a pot of black bean and silky chicken soup.
