When Qin Yin's phone rang, she was somewhat groggy, but the call managed to wake her up a bit. She answered the phone in a daze, giving a sleepy 'hello.'
There was no sound on the other end of the phone. Qin Yin then lifted the phone to her face, using the screen's light to check the caller ID. Surprisingly, it was Nan Sichen.
This jolted her awake. Startled, she wondered why Nan Sichen was calling her. She glanced at the time on her phone. It was already half-past midnight. Damn, was he calling her this late just to scare her?
Why on earth was he calling?
As Qin Yin was lost in her thoughts, Nan Sichen's voice, clear as jade, filled her ears. It was late, and his voice was a bit low, as if he was speaking right beside her.
It felt as if his lips were by her ear whispering. Qin Yin's face blushed slightly and she moved the phone a bit away from her.
He asked, "Are you awake?"
