Everyone nodded, their eyes cautiously trailing the young python, alert to every movement.
Suddenly, without hesitation, it charged towards Jing Youlan and her companion. The two of them turned and ran without a second thought. The python quickly caught up, fixated on its self-invited prey.
Approaching carefully, they observed the surroundings for any other pythons. Once they were sure it was safe, they picked up the small box and returned to their original spot. Opening it, they found a single piece of paper with a brief message, "It looks like you're heading in the right direction; not bad, keep up the good work."
Grinding their teeth, they tossed the note aside.
"What do they mean by this?" Were they playing games with them? What kind of useless hint was this?
Keep up the good work? Hadn't they been trying hard enough? They were almost fighting with pythons...
