Just like that, a week quietly passed, and Jing Chen was still not back.
Mu Lin couldn't help but worry.
That morning, just after Mu Lin had finished breakfast, she received a phone call. Seeing the name stored on her cell phone, Mu Lin felt a strange sensation.
Xu Yibai.
Why was he calling her?
She casually picked up, "Hello?" Her voice cold and indifferent.
"Mu Lin." Xu Yibai's voice came from the other end of the line.
"What is it?" Mu Lin asked.
"Can't I call you if there's nothing special?" Xu Yibai uttered, the smile on his lips tinged with bitterness. Puzzled, Mu Lin furrowed her brows, unsure why he would say such a thing.
Chuckling, Xu Yibai continued, "It's nothing, I was just wondering if you'd be willing to meet up. I heard you're getting married soon and as a friend, I, at the very least, need to congratulate you. Not to mention, you saved my life before."
