Alex accepted the quest without overthinking. It was an A-rank quest, which was awesome. Players would kill for a quest like that, especially considering Alex was still low-leveled, so getting their hands on such great quests was even more complicated.
Mayor Sebastian led them to a massive tower at the city's center. A sign on the front said, "Sebastian's Wizard Tower.'
It was the highest building in the city, and it had a different kind of atmosphere. A magical place belonging to a powerful wizard like Sebastian, like all things should be.
While the outside was breathtaking, the inside was even more gorgeous, neatly decorated with various paintings and luxurious furniture. What instantly caught Alex's attention were the self-moving objects used to clean up the dust inside the building.
"What did you think about this place?" Sebastian asked with a proud smile.
"Pretty awesome. How did you build all of this?" Alex asked.
Sebastian seemed to be waiting for that question.
"I used transmutation magic. It's when you use it in a type of material and then change it to something else. I also used Earth Magic to help with the construction and…"
Sebastian talked non-stop about his method of building the tower, and because the place was massive, it took them a while to reach Sebastian's office by walking, allowing him to share the tower's story…
By the time they reached the office, Alex was already bored with that story but tried his best to listen to everything and look like he was enjoying it. That could bring him some benefits, like increasing their friendship even further.
Alex realized why Shade and Sebastian, who were friends, hadn't talked. Their personalities were the exact opposite…
Sebastian sat on a comfy chair behind his desk, which had plenty of papers above it. It looked messy.
"So I called you here for something great. I don't think I should ask this from a youth like yourself, but you're the only one who can do it for me. Are you willing to accept it?"
"Of course. If it benefits this lovely city and kingdom, I will do my best to complete my duty."
"Ha, that's what I like to hear."
The Mayor went silent for a few seconds, gathering the words before explaining his request.
"There's a forest up north with elves," Sebastian said, noticing Alex's shocked face, "Don't worry; they are friendly. But the thing is, some dark elves started to infiltrate and attack the elves and my human subordinates. I want you to go there and discover what's happening."

[Quest type changed to Main Quest]
[Main Quests give bountiful rewards and change the course of the game's history.]
[They are much more challenging, almost impossible to be completed alone. You can share it with up to four players.]
[Quest Rank from A to S(Main)]
[Time Limit for the first part: 100 days.]
Alex was startled by it! He had read about the game's Main Quests and said quests were rare! The difficulty was much more complicated, and it was meant to be completed by groups of four players. The rewards were fantastic, but it often took a long time to complete the quest, having to level up and uncover some mysteries.
But the most impressive thing was that these types of quests changed the game's course, and the company behind the game stated that completing said quests would unlock some 'DLCs' for the players. So everyone wished to have a chance to get a main quest. Alex guessed he was getting one because he was either the first player to reach the city and speak with the Mayor or because he had a hidden class and was Shade's friend.
Either way, he got the quest; the only problem was how he would complete it without a group of four people…
'There's a time limit, and I must find three trustful players to add to my group. Well, let's go slowly…'
Alex was confident in finding people because of his status. Almost all players wanted a chance to complete a quest alongside the most famous player, Shadowborn. But to find trustful people who wouldn't betray him and had the skills to finish a difficult mission? That was a different story.
"I will do my best, Mayor."
"Good."
He accepted the quest, but that was one for the future only. Alex wanted something to focus on now, and why not ask the Mayor about it too?
"Oh, you want another task? Well, let me see… I am sending a squad of soldiers to clean up a cave nearby. Some spiders are attacking the miners. You can go with them if you want."

[New Quest]
[Cave Problem]
[Description: Meet the captain of the squad the Mayor is sending to clean the cave and ask for a spot.]
[Rank: B]
A B quest was quite good. Alex was pleased and decided to leave to meet with the said captain. But then everything around him froze, and his conscious left the game. Alex found himself back in his new room inside the prison.
He tilted his head to the side, staring at the clock. It was 10:30 pm, the hour the game's server was supposed to close.
The prison was silent, and Alex's stomach growled. He had a bathroom and a kitchen inside his room, so he went for a quick bath and cooked some pasta with tomato sauce for dinner.
Then, it was bedtime. His mind was tired after playing the game. It needed rest, and it was not like Alex had that many things to do inside the prison.

Alex woke up to the sound of someone knocking on his door. Still dazed, he stumbled a few times after getting up from his bed.
"Director Louis! Come in," Alex said, opening the door.
Director Louis was the person in charge, and he was the one who gave Alex that room and allowed him to play the game. After experiencing the game's greatness, Alex did not want to piss off Louis.
"Good morning, Alex. I came here to talk about the game. How was it? Did you like it?"
Alex and Director Louis talked for one hour about the game, and the strangest part was the fact Director Louis was, in fact, a die-hard fan of the player known as Shadowborn…
