Chapter 32 - Goblin and Kobold Quests

After a moment, she added, "Though Lila is probably better since it might get confusing."

"Yes, Mrs. Lila."

Lila stood up and reached for her clothes that had been neatly folded in a pile, but Elaria was faster, picking up the panties that she had placed on top with a red face, and held them in such a way that Lila only had to step into them.

Lila stopped moving for a second, seemingly debating whether she should dress herself.

I was about to say that wasn't what I meant when I said to help her get dressed, but I decided it was perfectly fine for Lila to be treated like the royalty she was for a change.

Lila stepped into her panties, and Elaria pulled them up, before putting the rest of the clothing on Lila.

Afterwards, I created some food for them, and they ate. When they were finished, we searched for anything valuable and found some money before leaving the house. We split up to look through the tents also and found some more money but nothing else good. All in total there were a few 100 gold. A lot for the 3 of us but not much for a large group of bandits.

When we left the area heading back towards the road and reached the top of the hill, I created a bunch of fireballs above my head, launching them into the camp, obliterating it. No more bandits would be able to move in.

We made it back to the road and started walking toward the city again. Elaria was struggling to keep up with our speed so we had to slow down a bit more than I thought we were going to have to, but it shouldn't take us too long to reach the city, maybe an extra hour.

When we reached the city, I handed Lila an identity saying she was from the capital of Ironspire, and I made mine say the same. I gave Elaria one saying she was from one of the large cities in the elf kingdom, Alfheim.

We easily passed through the gate and were greeted with a city that looked very similar to Flamehaven but with a higher population of humans rather than Beastmen like in Flamehaven.

After getting directions to the adventurers guild, we decided to go there and get a quest as well as register Elaria.

When we entered the guild, the layout was exactly the same as the one in Flamehaven. Elaria said there are only a few layouts for guild branches, and which one gets built depends on the size of the city it is being built in.

We went to the mission board and selected yet another goblin-slaying quest of E rank. After taking it up to the receptionist named Ann and giving her our memberships, we registered Elaria. When Ann saw Elaria was only a 0 circle mage, she reminded her to be careful and stay near us since we were 4th circle mages.

I didn't update my membership to reflect my 5th circle status since I didn't want to cause any commotion, and there aren't enough benefits.

We left the city and headed for the cave the goblins were staying in. The quest said there should only be 15-20 goblins. Even if there were a thousand, it shouldn't be a problem with our number of circles.

Upon reaching the cave, I cast a personal shield on each of us in case there were any surprises.

We walked inside and reached a large opening where the goblins were milling around.

Lila conjured a horrifying amount of ice needles and flung them at the oblivious goblins with a grin. The goblins were absolutely shredded, and the needles even pierced into the rocks, stirring up a cloud of dust and causing a racket.

I used wind magic to blow the dust out the entrance of the cave and looked around. Green blood flowed in small rivers, and the pits created from Lila's magic formed lakes. Thankfully, the goblins were intact enough to collect their left ears for proof of completion.

All monsters contained mana crystals, but the ones in goblins didn't even qualify as basic grade and were near useless so I just devoured them along with the corpses, cleaning up the cave a little.

When we returned to the guild, Ann wasn't the least bit surprised at how fast it went. An E rank quest for 2 level 4 mages, only a fool would think it might be hard.

We were all immediately promoted to E rank. I guess some people only get the guild card for identity purposes and never take quests, so after only 1 quest, you get promoted. The next promotions require a certain number of contribution points each. The number of points given is based on the quests and is stated on the mission papers.

We went back over to the mission board and picked a D rank quest to exterminate 10 Kobolds, giving 10 contributions and 3 silver.

When I took it to Ann to accept it, I asked about whether it was 10 contributions and 3 silver each or total. She explained for this quest it was total; however, for this one if we killed 30, it would be worth 30 contributions and 9 silver. For this specific quest there wasn't a limit on the number of people who could accept and complete this quest nor how many times it could be completed, as it was sponsored by the government to keep the city safer.

However, this quest can only be completed in batches of 10 Kobolds. This was to keep people from thinking they could kill 1 and get a reward. Kobolds move in groups so if you can only kill 1 at a time, you were just looking to die. This also made it so people kept hunting more of them rather than stopping early.

I nodded in understanding, and we left to kill Kobolds.

After a while, we found a group of 3 and started following them, thinking that maybe there would be a nest and make it easier to kill more.

Kobolds were rather ugly; they looked like 6 foot tall lizards that stood upright with red scaly skin. They were holding makeshift weapons and looking around for prey.

After nearly 4 hours of following them, our patience paid off and we found a nest of them with nearly 100. I cast the same spell as Lila used to eliminate the goblins but with about 10 times the number of needles and turned them into mincemeat.

After sending wind across the area to clear the dust, we collected all the left ears again. There were 96 in total.

Since Kobolds contain basic mana stones, we decided to sell some to the guild like normal people would do. I walked around devouring all the corpses containing mana stones and reproduced 10 of them. I was planning on having Elaria use the other 86 to become a mage so she could start using magic.

We headed back to the guild and it was getting dark by the time we arrived. We turned in the ears and 10 stones. We received our 27 silver for the quest and another 5 for the stones.

We decided to have all the contribution go to me so we could take higher level quests in the future, and I got 106 contribution points, which brought me up to D rank.

There was an apartment building next to the guild, and I paid enough to stay a month. The cost was 8 silver a month, which I thought was reasonable.

There were only 2 rooms, with the kitchen, dining room, and bedroom all one big room, and only the bathroom being separate.

When we entered, Elaria went into the bathroom and started running water for a bath. After it was finished, she came out.

"Master, Mrs. Lila, the bath is ready."

Lila pulled me into the bathroom and thanked her. She started to get undressed, but Elaria came up behind her and started pulling Lila's clothing off for her. Lila didn't object and just raised her arms as the shirt was pulled over her head, then stepped out of her other pieces as Elaria pulled them down.

I just stood there awkwardly while this happened not sure what I should do now, but Lila told me.

"Get undressed and get in," she motioned to the tub while stepping in.

Elaria thankfully knew my dilemma and said to Lila, "I have to go make some food now. Otherwise, I'd help you wash."

After she shut the door, I created a simple robe for Lila to wear when she was done bathing. I had an inkling that she wouldn't put on any clothing if it was more than just stick her arms in, then undressed and joined her.

We helped each other wash up, and Lila started to try and play, but Elaria knocked on the door.

"The food is ready."

Lila looked slightly disappointed but answered, "You can come in."

Without giving me any time to react, she pulled me up to standing as Elaria opened the door.

Lila put her finger against my chest, "Get dressed and let's eat; I'm hungry."

Elaria's face was crimson when she saw the scene but dried Lila off well before putting the robe on her. I dried and got dressed as fast as I could; it was going to take me a bit to get used to this.

Elaria had prepared a nice steak and some steamed vegetables with rice. As we ate, I could tell she must have been taught cooking as the flavor and texture were very good.

"Who taught you to cook?" I inquired.

"My mother was one of the staff at a merchant's home. I learned everything from her when she took me to work sometimes, and I tried to help her."

Ah, this explains why she's good, knowing what to do without being told.

After eating, she went to take her own bath.

Usually, we'd just sleep on a blanket, but since we were going to be here longer, I had Kitty create us a mattress. Lila's and mine could easily have the two of us while Elaria's was comfortable for one and I placed them on opposite sides of the room about 10 feet apart.

I had Lila bring her new clothing which she set inside the bathroom door.

I sat on the bed, and Lila sat on my lap. We talked for a bit and decided to stay here for a while then go to the capital and see what we could get from the magic tower. While we are here though we would look for magic shops and buy some books from them.

When Elaria came out and got in her bed, I knew what was coming next.

Lila stood and shed her robe then sliced off my clothing. I pulled her into my lap and rolled over so she was on her back.

She looked over at Elaria who had just rolled to face the other way and gave a naughty smile whispering, "Her ears are so red; it's so cute." Elaria's hands flew over her ears, covering them.

I kissed Lila and decided, if this little pervert wants to do it in front of another her why should I have a problem?
