Chapter 112 - C111- Janeen and the Copy (4)

The boy jumped and dashed, many times. Janeen watched the boy try and fight for his life, barely managing to get out of the swinging sword's way every time, barely managing to not stab himself with the dirt spikes that kept suddenly appearing right where he pushed himself.

'He is pretty good but nothing special... He is a threat to the world? He surely has talent but... Well, I don't really know much about swords anyway. And that thing doesn't say a single thing about him...', thought Janeen, remembering the humanoid entity that suddenly disappeared before coming to this barren place.

'Is that thing supposed to be inside me or something? Whatever... All I need to do is listen to it.'

The boy caught a bag and flew to the sky. Janeen ordered the knights to stop attacking him while he searched through the bag in the sky. When the boy landed on the ground, she started the next step of the play.

"Oh, right. I forgot about these friends of yours. Let's see if you are still going to be as slippery as before?", she said with a mocking tone.

She ordered the boy's friends to use their magic to hinder his fight and cause him pain. As the melodies started, the boy looked the worst she had ever seen him.

'It's a shame. He is handsome and looks like a good person... At least on the surface. That's what everyone acts like anyways, he probably has a dark side to him like everyone else...'

Unable to trust anyone's goodwill, Janeen swept her guilt under the rug and focused on the plan.

'Don't kill him. Only hurt him. He needs to be alive, but he needs to go crazy. Only then we will have a chance to bypass some kind of security protocol or whatever that means... Why do we need to do this again? Can't we just kill him normally?'

An inhumane voice echoed in her head after her thoughts.

"Negative."

After getting startled for a second, Janeen asked the voice in her mind.

'Oh, you really are inside of me. Why can't we kill him? Is he an immortal or something?'

"Negative. Can't share information with owner."

"Sigh~"

Janeen gave up on trying to get an explanation on what was happening. All she wanted to do was be done with all this and live normally. She continued to watch and wait for the boy to be ready for the next step of the plan.

Corvin's knees started to tremble out of exhaustion. He used his magic to help his weakened legs carry him.

'Ugh... It aches so much...'

The knight in front of him, his sword now glistening with a reddish layer of poison, ran towards Corvin. He quickly pushed himself back, but he couldn't slow himself down in time and his left arm was stabbed by a spike of dirt.

"Urgh!!"

He got away from the spike and narrowly avoided being hit by a sword swinging from above. He had done this many times already, but with Noah's magic working against him, he wasn't able to completely dodge the attacks.

'Only a few minutes... Only a few minutes... Then the pills will help me..'

Corvin tightened his grip on his sword and readied himself for the next attack. The knight slashed towards him once again. As he felt the wind from the blow on his back after narrowly dodging it, he used his sword to swing himself away from a dirt spike by stabbing it into the ground. His arms were hurting every time, but this was better than holding the sword for no reason at all.

'If only Noah's music.... stopped.... Ah"

He glanced at the flute on Noah's hands and his left hand reached for his pocket. Suddenly, with a new idea in his mind, he began to wait until the pills he took showed their effects.

One of the knights swung their swords, the other used matter magic to create spikes to stop him from running away from the attacks. He was sure they were only trying to tire him, and not kill him at this point.

'If they really wanted to... I would have died a hundred times already...'

Getting rid of the uncomfortable thoughts in his mind, he tried focusing even more on dodging the attacks while trying to create and opportunity for the plan in his mind. He struggled for another few minutes, narrowly avoiding being badly hurt, and managing to only be scratched by the spikes. He spent extra effort to not be slashed by the sword in any way because of the poison on it.

'Finally... The pill...'

The pill he took finally started to show it's effects. The fatigue was slowly getting better, and he felt a bit of power returning to him. So, he started to take steps on the small plan in his mind. The plan itself was simple, find a few seconds to focus his power and take out the girl that did this.

He didn't want to kill a person with his own hands, but that would make him a hypocrite. He had already hurt humans, ones that were turned into monsters, or enemy soldiers. He already had blood on his hands. At least, this time, it was to save himself and his friends.

So he took the opportunity as soon as it showed itself.

Just as the knight swung the poisoned sword to his right, he jumped into the air and pulled out the spare pen from his pocket. Using magic, he hovered and pushed all the air around him away. With this, Noah's music wouldn't reach him in any way, and so his magic wouldn't affect him. And, it worked. His senses, energy, muscles, everything Noah's magic suppressed, got back to it's normal state and even stronger because of the pills.

Since he didn't have the time to do this with caution, there were no air around him at all. As the veins under his skin started to expand and start to burst, he opened his mouth in agony but no screams came out of his mouth. As fast as he could, he threw the spare pen towards Noah. Guiding the pen with his magic, he knocked Noah's flute out of his mouth, breaking it in the process.

He quickly pulled air back around him and also tried to push the blood pouring from his skin back to where it came from, though he didn't know how effective that would be. He stopped in a few seconds and quickly turned towards the girl that did all this and started to run towards her.

Crack!

*****

Janeen watched the boy jump into the air and throw something towards his friend.

'Ugh... He is bleeding from his skin... Is this really what you predicted?!'

The inhumane voice echoed in her mind once again.

"Positive. The users tends to ignore injuries that could heal, if that gives him something he wants. This move was predictable."

'How do you know so much about him? You aren't going to answer anyway right?'

"Positive. SAM and SAM_2 knows the most about the user but the reason is forbidden to be shared by SAM_2."

'Even though I am supposed to be your owner...'

The boy landed on the ground and started to run towards Janeen. Just then, the sound of something breaking was heard.

Crack!

Right next to Corvin, the knight that used a cover of dirt to hide himself swung his sword as he was being chased by the other one. Corvin avoided the attack, but the sword cut through something else above him. A bottle.

And a viscous, sticky liquid rained down on him.
